A huge thank you to the amazing Quiz Teams at the Albert Hotel in Port St Mary, who chose to support Hospice through their weekly quiz nights and raised an incredible £260 through entry fees!🎉

This is community spirit at its best. Your kindness helps Hospice continue providing free palliative care for our patients and vital support for their families when they need it most💜

The teams were a little camera shy, so our lovely staff accepted the donation on their behalf — but we want every single quiz goer to know just how grateful we are for your generosity and continued support. Thank you all for making such a meaningful difference!

We were delighted to welcome His Excellency the Governor, Sir John Lorimer, and Lady Lorimer to The Albert recently as part of their tour of Port St Mary with Port St Mary Commissioners and the Captain of the Parish.

As you may know, we’re currently on the lookout for bar staff and, ever keen to spot talent, we offered His Excellency the chance to try his hand at pulling a pint. We’re pleased to report he showed genuine promise and would welcome him for a trial should he fancy a career change !🍺

His Excellency also joined our Wednesday regulars, the “Men of Steel”, fitting in effortlessly, though they report that no vacancies are available at this time.

The Albert is proud to be part of the fabric of our local community, hosting a diverse range of community groups and friends year round. We were pleased to welcome him to the Port. 🇮🇲

WE’RE HIRING — BAR STAFF 🍺

An advert is winging its way to the Job Centre, but we’re giving you a heads up first!

The Albert Hotel runs a tight ship, and we’re looking for the right people to help us keep it that way.

No bar experience? No problem. We care more about attitude than CV highlights — if you’re reliable, quick to learn, and as happy pulling pints on a Friday night as a Tuesday afternoon, we want to hear from you.

Here’s what we need:

• At least 6 years’ work experience (anywhere, we’re not fussy)
• A willingness to get stuck in and do things the Albert way
• Flexibility across day and night shifts
• A responsible, professional approach to our licensing obligations — Challenge 25, overserving, and workplace safety are all taken seriously here

Full training is provided from day one, and there’ll be a trial period so we can make sure it’s a good fit on both sides.

This Saturday we will be at The Whitehouse Peel, they are hosting a terrific event to raise money for an amazing charity - Isle Stand Up to Suicide…there’ll also be a raffle with some great prizes! We’ll be serving from 12pm - 7pm so get yourself down there to support a great cause and grab some yummy food…
Then next Wednesday we are heading back to The Albert Hotel Port St Mary! It was fantastic last month & we can’t wait to head back there! We’ll be serving from 5pm - 8pm so head down for great drinks, delicious food & good vibes!
