🦌📣 BIG NEWS! 📣🦌

Last week we held a public meeting with the headline “We have raised £261,000 and have just £39,000 left to raise in 5 weeks”

Well guess what? This wonderful community has pulled out all the stops, and the Save The Stag campaign has had a bumper week!

We have now raised an incredible £270,091 so we have ✨ LESS THAN £30,000 ✨ to raise over the next 26 days. It’s not going to be easy, but we’ve got a really great chance of hitting our minimum target before the share offer ends on 19th November.

If you are planning to invest, but have been putting it off, now is the time!
And if you have already invested but have been thinking you could put in a bit more, now is the time!

Please remember that this is an investment not a donation - the money remains yours and can be withdrawn in the future. And if we don’t succeed in hitting our target, or in purchasing The Stag, you will get every single penny back

If you still have questions about investment or about the project in general, just send us a message, we’re always happy to chat.

Thank you everyone for your incredible support and help in getting us to this point. You’re all amazing! It just goes to show what a brilliant community we have and what a precious place our village pub, The Stag, is to us all - let’s not lose it forever!

Is everyone's electric back in in the village? 🦌

The pub has power and is open from 12! 🦌

After you've been to Ponsanooth Village Store for your lunch soup come down to The Stag Hunt Inn Ponsanooth for free hot drinks, a lit fire and Michelle is busy making some traybakes if you need a sweet treat while the weather is awful and some of you are without power still. We will be open from midday.

The shop have power and are providing free soup! 🦌

Free soup at lunchtime for everyone who is out of electricity
We also have free cups of tea. The shop is open and please come and charge any device you may have.

Sorry everyone. It doesn't look like they have been able to fix the issue 😕

If we had a community pub…
The doors would be open,
the fire would be lit,
and the tea and coffee would be free!

We hope everyone is staying safe this morning. If you are without power, they have estimated it will be on at 11am. 🦌

What makes a pub worth saving? 🤔

For many rural communities, it's not just about food and drink. Community-owned pubs are tackling isolation, supporting wellbeing, creating jobs and safeguarding vital local assets.

📣"They're places where people meet, where people talk, where people connect. In a polarised society, we can't afford to lose those spaces."

In our latest feature article, our Communications and Marketing Officer, Michael Wolverson, speaks with Jane Marsh from The Salusbury Arms Community Pub in North Wales about the challenges facing the pub sector, the importance of community-owned social infrastructure, and why community ownership shouldn't be viewed as a "too difficult" solution.
