The annual Nightshift Magazine tracks of the year are in.... do you agree with the list?
Who is your favourite local artists this year?
Who would be your dream acts to play Sofar Oxford next yeat>

It's the end of November so it must be the end of the year, right? Wrong obviously, but it is the last Nightshift of 2023 - online now at https://nightshiftmag.co.uk/2023/dec.pdf - where we celebrate our favourite Oxford music of the year in a Top 30 (+10) style.

Time to find out what's THE BEST OXFORD SONG OF THE YEAR! And the second best Oxford song of the year! And so on and so forth!

Without giving too much away, Oxford don't arf produce some cracking tunes.

Elsewhere there's an Introducing feature on MID AIR, we're at work with session musician JOSH RIGAL, there's five pages of local gig reviews and five pages of gigs for the month ahead. Two months in fact since we've even included January in the gig guide. Not much happens in January as you can see from that bit of the gig guide. There won't be a January Nightshift for that and various other reasons. We'll be back in February. Like the coffee creams in your festive chocolate assortment, we're difficult to get rid of.

Exciting news - one of our favourite bands at the moment PET NEEDS are back in Oxford the afternoon of Sun 26 March at Tap Social Movement. It'll be a very lively duo set, with support from fellow Sofar alumni Oxford's pandapopalypse who'll also bring the party - hope to see you there! Come join us? https://www.wegottickets.com/event/573680
Meanwhile here is a little treat from Sofar Sounds Oxford last summer, a lovely version of one of their quieter songs, a one off performance of Embers featuring Barney Morse Brown (a.k.a. Duotone) on cello. Expect a full on lively duo set on 26 March though! Anyone who saw them support Frank Turner at the Academy or their Independent Venue Week set at the The Bullingdon knows that they know how to party too.
We'll be back for more Sofar soon as well...
