Our location in Orpington makes us an ideal place to stop for a bite to eat... before or after a long journey. When you stop you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of our rustic pub restaurant. We were formerly home to the Orpington Folk Club until they moved in 1965, although the Club still provides entertainment in Orpington. A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

There’s just something about the ‘ber months that makes a pub feel exactly where you want to be. 🍂🔥

September gives us those last lighter evenings and the chance to squeeze in one more drink outdoors. Then October rolls in with falling leaves, darker nights and that proper feeling that pub season has arrived.

By November, it’s all about cosy corners, hearty food, Sunday roasts and settling in somewhere warm… and before we know it, December is here with Christmas catch-ups, festive dinners and plenty of excuses to gather around the table. 🎄

Yes… it’s AI 😂 We haven’t suddenly filled every table with people dressed for December in the middle of August.

But there is a reason for the hats and scarves*… our air con is working overtime ❄️🧣😂

So while it’s too hot outside, you can still enjoy a delicious Royal Oak meal in cool comfort inside.
