Who are we?
The Horse is a thriving village pub in the middle of Moretonhampstead. We pride ourselves on our food and feature in many excellent publications like The Good Food Guide, The Trencherman’s guide and many others. The Horse is as much a pub as an eating destination and we host music events and quiz nights on a regular basis. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, with a strong focus on personal service. Who are you?
We are looking for an assistant manager who will oversee the day to day running of the pub. This will include cellar work, rotas, ordering, cashing up and being the point of contact for customers, sleeping guests, staff members and suppliers. You will be in direct contact with the owners, who will be on site on a regular basis to guide and help wherever needed.
The right person for the job will be naturally service minded, friendly, outgoing and easy to get on with. We work with a flat hierarchy – everybody works together to create a harmonious working environment, with everybody taking joint responsibility. It is therefore extremely important that you are a ‘people person’, that you are able to step up when required and be able to negotiate any issues in a supportive and constructive manner.
Please be aware that our trade is very focused on evenings, and you will be required to do a minimum of 4 closing shifts per week.
