Courtnay (with John Giffin) – Live at No.7 Duke Street

The Early Evening Blues Sessions are delighted to welcome Courtnay (with John Giffin) to No.7 Duke Street, Warrenpoint, for an evening of soulful grooves, blues feeling, and heartfelt musicianship.

Courtnay is a Northern Ireland–based singer, songwriter, and guitarist, delivering a rich blend of soul, R’n’B, and blues with real depth and style. A regular on the Irish blues festival circuit, she moves effortlessly between intimate solo performances and full-band shows, always bringing a strong emotional connection to the stage.

Her voice is deep, velvety, and captivating, shaped by influences ranging from Etta James and Amy Winehouse to the great soul and blues powerhouses who helped define the genre. It sits perfectly in that sweet spot where blues, soul, and modern R’n’B meet, creating performances that are both powerful and deeply personal.

Joining Courtnay on stage is her father, John Giffin, on saxophone and keyboards. Together they share a natural musical chemistry that brings warmth, texture, and spontaneity to every performance. John’s expressive saxophone lines and tasteful keyboard work provide the perfect complement to Courtnay’s soulful vocals and guitar playing.

Audiences can expect an evening filled with blues standards, soulful interpretations, original material, and plenty of musical moments that capture the essence of live performance. Whether delivering a stripped-back ballad or an upbeat groove, Courtnay and John create an atmosphere that is intimate, engaging, and full of character.

With class, soul, authenticity, and a genuine love of the music, Courtnay and John Giffin bring feeling, groove, and heart to every stage they step onto.
