We’re staying OPEN for Jan!

Yes, we were expecting to be closed for the last fortnight of January but circumstances dictate that we need to put that off for a few weeks.

The great news? You don't have to wait to visit us! We are open as usual for all your favourite drinks and dishes.

Plus, as people have been asking – the wait is almost over... our famous Sunday Roast returns this February! 🥘

Watch this space for updates but, for now, we’ll see you at the bar! 🍻

New Year at The Coach – By Popular Demand! 🥂🍛

After so many people told us how much they enjoyed the food last time, we’ve concluded we need to do more than just drinks to see in the New Year. So, in the interest of a more fun, more festive (and more socially responsible) evening, we’re going to to do it all over again – but even better!

We’re hosting a curated, low-impact (but fun!) evening with a quiz, games and food, to see out the year and to help us save some lives! We are raising funds for our Pub Defibrillator Appeal, with the goal of installing a community unit right here at The Coach.

Tickets: £15 per person – 15% of every ticket goes directly to the Defibrillator Appeal.

Your ticket includes:
• Pub opens at 7.00 pm
• 9.00 pm: Homemade Curry & Rice (Meat & Vegan options) plus a slice of cheesecake for pudding.
• The Entertainment: Our "2025 Year in Review" Quiz, games and the Spanish Midnight Grape Challenge.
• Midnight Toast: A glass of Prosecco to ring in the New Year!

In the rush of the festive season, I forgot to mention one important detail: we will be closed on Boxing Day to give our team a well-earned rest.

🎄 Festive Opening at The Coach! 🎄

Looking for a refuge from the wrapping paper or a place to hide while the turkey roasts? Here is where you’ll find us over the holidays:

✨ Christmas Eve (6 – 10pm): Open as usual. Come and settle your nerves before the big man in red arrives.

🎅 Christmas Day (Noon – 2pm) The legendary Christmas Quickie! Join us for a swift one before lunch. We’ll have you back in time to pull the crackers and fall asleep during the King's Speech.

🍇 New Year’s Eve (6:00 PM – Late): We’re building to a midnight crescendo with food, low-impact entertainment (no earplugs required!), and a Spanish twist. We’ll be attempting a traditional Spanish midnight challenge. It doesn't sound difficult until you try — come and see what it is and whether you can meet that challenge!

😴 A Quick Heads-Up for January: Once the New Year’s dust has settled, we’ll be taking a well-earned breather. The Coach will be closed for the last two weeks of January while we recharge the batteries (and give some kitchen kit a deep clean). We’ll be open and ready to see you back at the pub in February!

Closed Tonight with Christmas Cheer Tomorrow! 🚨

If you haven’t seen the absolutely brilliant job Henry did on our Christmas tree yet, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow!

The central heating has been misbehaving and we'd hoped to get it fixed by now. Rob is working flat out to fix it but the bar is currently a bit chilly for anyone who isn't a cold-acclimatised pine tree. (The tree is quite happy, but you wouldn't be!)

The Coach will be closed this evening.

We are planning to be back open and toasty tomorrow. Thanks for your understanding!
