Sunday Roast returns to The Coach! 🍽️✨
Mark your calendar! From Sunday 20th September, our fabulous Sunday Roast will be back at The Coach!

We’ll be serving:
• Tender roast lamb
• Succulent pork with crackling
• Our juicier-than-ever chicken
All served alongside our delicious gravy, generous Yorkshire puds, seasonal veg and our fêted roasties!

Please note that The Coach will be temporarily closed while we complete some work we didn’t manage to get done in July, on the following dates:
• Sunday 13th September
• Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September

Please do book Sunday lunch in advance as – while we will try – we can’t promise you lunch otherwise.

Just a quick note to let you know some cleaning work has gone on a bit longer than expected and we need a little more time to get the pub ready to open.

Just a note to say that, although I've blagued my way on to another flight, it's a bit later that the one I'd booked and it's not certain whether we'll be able to open this evening.

Best option: if you're coming down, give us a quick call on 01635 247271 just to make sure the doors are open. (No answer does probably mean we're not back).

I spoke too soon. Despite having an OK reservation, I've just been bumped from my flight back to Blighty. Current expectation is that The Coach will now not be open this evening.

Barring an unhelpful act of god or significant flight delay, we'll be open as usual tonight. It might be worth checking in advance if you'd like food because, following several flights in the last day, Chef will probably be on his knees by then!

It’s been a couple of years since I last had a holiday, so I’ve decided to take a day trip to Spain this Wednesday!

Because of that, the pub will be closed on Wednesday. I’ll be doing my best to make it back in time to open up on Thursday evening, but I’ll keep you posted as soon as I know for sure.

(I’m hoping Henry will have found time to delight everybody by re-painting the gates or some garden furniture by the time I get back! If not, I'll make sure the furniture, at least, will get a new coat of preservative before the weather turns bad.)

We’re also taking a brief pause a bit later in September to finish off the work we didn't quite get completed back in July. We will be closed on:

• Sunday 13th September

• Wednesday 16th September

• Thursday 17th September

So come on down to cheer on England with your vuvuzela and your Lionel Messi voodoo doll (if you think it might be necessary). 🎺🪄

As the opponent-orientated national nibbles have gone down so well in previous matches, we might even put together some Argentine snacks to go with the action on the field. 🇦🇷😋
