Hijack, was originally a family run business in the spa town of Harrogate. Ken Skelton started this company from his cottage on the side of the stray over 20 years ago. Please read below. This is how Ken started Hijack. Ken's original auto-tilt design revolutionised how beer barrels were used in cellars all over the UK. The stillage comprised of a leaf spring that slowly increased the tilt of the
barrel as the it became empty. This was a fantastic design and worked very well, but having a critical mind, Ken realised that there was in fact no need for the spring at all! Without the spring, Hijack stillages would need no maintenance and should effectively live forever. The I Tilt is Ken's most recent product in barrel innovation. The I Tilt is a springless mechanism that has your barrel and the perfect degree from the word go. You may wonder how we allow the beer to ventilate at such an angle from the get go? We also supply Race Cask Ventilators which we find to be the absolute best in conserving and aerating your beer with absolutely no spillage. This mechanism is entirely adjustable so that you can tilt your variety of beers individually, and you will see a vast improvement on your ullage waste to around half a pint! The increase in profit on every barrel because of the reduced ullage alone is the perfect reason to Hijack your cellar. We understand how cellars can be a nightmare for space and can become cluttered very easily.
