MEET OUR PEOPLE ✨ General Manager of the Three Greyhounds Inn, Nathan.

Nathan has been with the company for around five years, building his way up through the ranks. He started as Deputy Manager at The Bull’s Head, progressing to Senior Deputy Manager, before taking the helm at the Three Greyhounds recently as GM. Let’s get to know him! 👋🏻

Tell us something interesting about yourself:

“I am currently training to become a beer sommelier.” 🍺

What is your favourite thing about working for Cheshire Cat Pubs & Inns?

“Being part of a supportive team and meeting so many great people. I also love the friendly atmosphere across all the pubs and the beautiful locations they’re set in.”

You sit down to eat at the Three Greyhounds, what are you choosing from the menu?

“A Katsu Chicken Curry with a portion of Massey’s chips on the side – yes please!”

What is your favourite choice of tipple?

“A pint of Hells Lager enjoyed in a sunny beer garden.”

Favourite Cheshire Cat pub (apart from the one you work in!)?

“I’ve been lucky enough to spend time in all seven pubs, so choosing just one is incredibly difficult! I love them all, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be the Bull’s Head in Mobberley, as that’s where my Cheshire Cat journey began.”

What are you most excited about?

“I’m most excited about taking my girls to their first live music festival and introducing them to wild swimming this summer. I can’t wait to see them experience both for the first time.”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“I love spending my free time with my family, going for walks and camping in the countryside.”

Highlights of your time with Cheshire Cat Pubs so far?

“Definitely the friendships I have formed with staff and customers. That along with the Bull’s Head being crowned the best pub in the Northwest at the Pub and Bar Magazine’s National Awards 2025!” ⭐️

Next time you’re in the be sure to say hello to Nathan!

Wine Man ~ Macià Batle Orange Wine, from our Grape Escape List 🍊🍷

It’s National Fish & Chips Day…And Wine Man has one word for you: orange! 🍊

Not the fruit…The wine.

Macià Batle is the oldest bodega in Mallorca, and this is one of the most exciting things they make. Their Orange Wine is a unique, artisanal wine made from a special selection of native white grapes grown in the vineyards of Mallorca, following the traditional method of producing orange wines - fermenting white grapes with their skins, similar to the process used for red wines.

It is beautifully bright orange in colour, with golden highlights. On the nose, intense aromas of stone fruits - apricot and peach - can be picked up, alongside citrus notes of orange and grapefruit.

So why is it so good with FISH & CHIPS? 🐟

The wine’s savoury, textured depth cuts straight through the batter. Its natural acidity lifts the fish. The gentle tannin… something you’d never get from a standard white…handles the salt and fat in a way that makes every mouthful sing.

Bold enough to stand up to the plate, and yet fresh enough to keep you reaching for another of our Massey’s Farm Chips 😋

About the list…

The Grape Escape List was hand-picked by our Management and Head Chef teams on their trips to Mallorca and Porto. This is one of the wines they couldn’t stop thinking about so had to be on the list!

Available now across our pubs and inns, whilst stocks last.

Thank you to everyone who entered Wine Man’s birthday giveaway! 🍷

We have had so many impressive entries - you really do all know him so well!

To recap, on Wine Man’s birthday, we asked you to name a grape you thought he’d be enjoying that evening. He said it wouldn’t be a rosé but other than that, it was down to regular viewers of our Wine Man videos to know what those grapes might be!

Because of how many entries we got, Wine Man is going to take his time going through them all, and we’ll be drawing the winner from a wine bucket (of course!) 🪣 next Friday 12th June.

The giveaway is now closed - so if you entered be sure to check back next Friday to see if you won a case of 6 hand-selected wines!

We’ll see you tomorrow at 5pm as normal with our weekly Wine Man special too.

Thank you all 🙏🏼

JUNE NEWSLETTER ~ What’s on across our pubs this month 🌞

The gardens are in full bloom, the terraces are looking their very best, and after a busy half term we are heading towards midsummer already…yes, already!

And what a month we have to celebrate. Most importantly, this Wednesday 3rd June marks our 16th Anniversary as owners of the … the pub where it all began.

We have four very special days of anniversary dishes, old favourites from yesteryear, and matching drinks with our compliments, running through to Saturday 6th June. We would love to see you there.

Later in the month, celebrates its 10th Anniversary under our ownership with a wonderful weekend of Roebuck Estates English sparkling wine and special dishes from Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th June…timed perfectly to close out English Wine Week 🥂

Mobberley has plenty more going on too, with the Rose Queen Festival on Saturday 13th June bringing the village together for a brilliant procession and a day of fun around both the Bulls Head and the Roebuck.

Father’s Day is Sunday 21st June ~ there is no better place to bring dad for a pint and a Sunday lunch. And if plans don’t allow on the day, a Cheshire Cat gift card is a lovely way to make him feel special 🍻

Summer menus are landing across all the pubs, new wine lists are live at the and the Roebuck, and English Wine Week runs from 20th to 28th June…come in and enjoy a glass of English fizz with us 🍾

And finally, on 10th June, the and the Church Inn are finalists at the Pub and Bar Magazine Awards in London 🌟 We couldn’t be prouder of both teams. Fingers crossed!

See you in the pub! 🍻

Wine Man ~ the perfect wines for spring lamb, at the Church Inn, PART 2 🍷🌿

This May we’ve been exploring what to have with spring lamb, and we’ve got two more seriously special wines for you.

One red, one rosé, and both were almost born to accompany a lamb Sunday roast!

First up, the Coterie by Wildeberg Grenache Syrah, Coastal Region, South Africa 🇿🇦

Ripe, supple Grenache from Paarl blends with the spicy berry fruit of Franschhoek Syrah, giving you a warm nose of freshly cracked black pepper, allspice and ripe plum, with red berry and dark fruits balanced by fresh acidity.

That pepper and spice is exactly why this wine sings alongside lamb…it mirrors the herb crust, handles the richness, and keeps everything lifted and fresh.

Then there’s the Domaine du Pré Semelé Sancerre Rosé, Loire (Organic) 🇫🇷

This is no ordinary rosé. Made by brothers Clément and Julien Raimbault, it’s a 100% rosé de presse, gently pressed for 3.5 hours to draw only the most delicate flavours from the Pinot Noir skins.

Fresh strawberries and red fruits on the nose, with redcurrants, red cherries and a touch of peach… joyous and fresh with a real Pinot Noir backbone.

That structure and bright acidity cut beautifully through the fat of the lamb, making every mouthful feel clean and elegant 🌸

Two wines, two very different styles, both a great match with spring lamb! 🌱

Available by the glass and bottle as our Wines of the Month at the Church Inn ~ Keep an eye out these styles when you’re shopping for wine! 🍷
