The Reggie Effect Difficult Dogs Support Group

14/04/2026

We were a little low on the ground today, but that didn’t stop us!

Two of the OG spicy boys, Reggie and Caden worked around each other super well. The focus was on keeping things nice and neutral (as we don’t think these guys are likely to be friends!) and also to keep busy and not start death staring one each other. There was a brief moment Reggie wanted to initiate play!
Linda also wanted to work on Cadens recall and it was lush to see how much he loves his ‘touch’ cue!

My favourite moment was both boys teaming up to bark at an innocent unsuspecting Labrador who dared to walk by!

Until next time Difficult Dog Crew! 💜🐾

23/03/2026

This time we focused a lot on bikes, trying to help Panda get ready for his holiday to the Netherlands!
But this was a perfect opportunity for everyone to proof some behaviours around bikes.

It was great fun, we all worked on our own bits and everyone pitched in when needed!

Big thank you to for taking some gorgeous photos of the dogs, she navigates the reactive and anxious dogs brilliantly, strongly recommend booking her!

See you all next time Difficult Dog Squad! 💜

📍Colwall Park Hotel

This month’s meetup is all about dog-on-dog reactivity 🐾

We’ll be having a good catch-up on everyone’s dogs, alongside an open and supportive discussion focused on navigating dog-to-dog reactivity, the challenges, the progress, and the real-life wins.

Here’s what’s lined up:

💜 Recorded Q&A with Fay from
We’ve recorded a special Q&A with Fay from Calm The Pup, who specialises in helping reactive dogs.
Please send your questions in advance so we can include as many as possible!

💜 A Fun Reactivity-Themed Quiz!
Who doesn’t love a quiz! Just for fun and to test your knowledge and spark some great conversations.

As always, I’d love to hear your ideas on how we grow.
If there’s a professional you’d love featured in a future Q&A, or a topic you’d like us to explore, just let me know.

Please note: This is a humans-only evening (but the venue is dog-friendly for future meetups!).

Tag someone who’d enjoy coming along and being part of our community 💜

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed my conversation with Toby from . I really appreciate the clarity and thoughtfulness in the way he explains things, and it’s clear he’s not only highly experienced but also a genuinely great person to work with. He’s the most recommended street-dog trainer I came across, and you can immediately tell he’s put in the groundwork with rescues and truly understands their needs.
The full video is now live on my YouTube channel—definitely worth a watch if you want insight from someone who really knows his stuff.

An excellent session with a really good bunch!

We each worked on all own stuff from pretty heavy human reactivity and stranger danger, dog on dog issues, working on overall engagement around some pretty difficult distractions to proofing stooge dog skills! As well an ongoing issues with horse the other side of the fence. Yes of course it was Reggie 😂.

I for one feel blessed to have connected with a group of people who want to train, understand your issues and support each other. 💜

Until next time! 🫶

And if you’ve missed out on training but like the sound of our support group, we meet on the 20th, see pinned post for details!

We’ll be catching up on everyone’s dogs, but, with a special focus on rescue dogs from overseas and the unique challenges and successes they bring.

💜 Recorded Q&A with Craze Dog Training
Craze came up as the most recommended foreign rescue specialist — so we’ve recorded a special Q&A with him!
Please send over your questions in advance so we can include as many as possible.

💜 A fun foreign rescue inspired game!

💜 Expo Update!

This month’s meetup is extra special because…

It’s my birthday! 🥳🎂
So we’re having cake, and a fun little game to celebrate!
Please let me know if you’re coming so I can make sure we’ve got enough treats (and plan the game accordingly!).

Here’s what we’ve got lined up:

One of my all-time favourite voices in the dog world! Tom specialises in shelter and rescue dog behaviour and reactivity.
Send over your questions for him!

Our honorary difficult dog member and I will be sharing a little about what’s coming up this year! Plus your discount code if you are planning on attending our expo!

As always, I’d love to hear your ideas on how we grow.

Change of Date – Please Read:

📅 New Date: Thursday, 24th July at 7:00 PM
📍 Colwall Park Hotel

Apologies for the change in date from the original email.

Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who returned their questionnaires, I really appreciate your input!

One of the key themes that came through from your feedback was the lack of support for the humans behind reactive dogs when working with professionals. This has only spurred me on to continue this group and our little community. It is really clear how important it is for us to connect and support one another. 💜

This month we have:

💜Q&A with Sam van Eggermond
Sam is an experienced dog trainer who began her career in rescue and is now a canine nutritionist. She has a deep interest in the relationship between diet, gut health, and behaviour.
❓Please send over any questions you’d like Sam to answer, she has a wealth of knowledge to share!

💜 Catch up with Alex, Founder of The Conscious Dog Mum
A brand creating awareness clothing and training gear with a purpose. I’m a big fan and can’t wait to share the story behind the brand!

💜 Also a little info on what myself and (our honorary difficult dog member!) are planning for this year!

This group is here to offer something different: a non-judgemental space built on kindness and connection, for both dogs and their humans.
Whether you’re looking to share experiences, exchange tips, arrange training walks, or simply meet others who get it, you’re in the right place.

As always, group members will also receive exclusive discount codes from businesses that support reactive dogs, along with local trainer and behaviourist recommendations.

Your thoughts and ideas on how we grow are always welcome and valued! If you know a professional you’d love to have on for a Q&A or a topic you’d like to cover, let me know!

So come and join us for a coffee (or a glass of wine!) even if it’s just to swap stories or show off your difficult dog’s latest antics! 🥰

Please note: this is a humans-only event, though the venue is dog-friendly for future meetups.

What a fab evening! 😍
It was so lovely to reconnect with you all after a bit of a break!

I’m looking at dates for the next session—if you’re keen to join, just let me know! I’ll also be lining up an expert interview soon, so get your questions over to me!

I will send out the minutes from our meeting over the weekend.

If you couldn’t make it but would still like to share your thoughts as part of our focus group, drop a 💜 and I’ll send you the reactive dog questionnaire.

Have a wonderful weekend, difficult friends!

📆 Thursday 29th May

📍Colwall Park Hotel, Colwall

This month, our focus is on catching up and reconnecting! 🥰
I am SO excited to share that we’ve been selected to take part in a focus group for a new local project, everyone’s input and feedback will be extremely valued! 🙌
I’ll also be sharing my exclusive Q&A with Jo-Rosie.
Plus, the big man himself might make a little appearance! 🧡

Difficult Dog Support Group is a welcoming community for guardians of challenging, reactive, or anxious dogs, or anyone who is struggling with any aspect of their dog’s behaviour or training.

Here, we connect with others facing similar experiences, exchange tips, arrange dog meetups and training walks, and explore compassionate training methods. Our environment is free of judgement, with a strong emphasis on kindness—both in how we train our dogs and how we support one another.
As ever, members will also receive discount codes for businesses that support reactive dogs, plus information about local trainers and behaviourists.
As our community grows, I hope to expand the group—your input on how will always be welcome! I plan to invite professionals to host talks and workshops tailored to our dogs’ unique needs.

Come join us for a coffee (or a glass of wine!)—even if it’s just to share pictures of your difficult dog.

(Please note: this is a human-only gathering, although the venue is dog-friendly for future events.)
