Meeting 3rd Monday of each month except August at the Village Hall Longstanton. We are a friendly group of just over 20 members of all ages who doesn't take itself too seriously. We meet monthly and at most meetings we'll have a guest speaker who talks on an interesting topic. The meeting almost always ends with cake. We also have a yearly BBQ, outing and Christmas Party. We also run extra interes

t sub-groups including a book club, craft group and walking/dining group. We welcome new members: come along to one of our meetings to try us out!

The last meeting of the Longstanton WI - for the time being anyway - but we all had fun regardless. One more gathering to come as we have a farewell dinner in April. Some of the members had been at this WI for 40 years! Many thanks to Fran Saltmarsh for her splendid lecture on fashions through the ages.

Monday May 19th meeting at 7:45pm at the Village Hall, Longstanton we are delighted to have Amanda Sutherland speaking entitled "Make Do and Mend", on how to reuse, recreate and restyle your wardrobe.
Amanda Sutherland's creative talks have now been running for over 10 years and have received huge recognition with the Women’s institute, U3A groups and social groups. Having received outstanding reviews and standing ovations, Amanda brings her experience of fashion, costume, crafting and creative business skills to the mix and delivers in an informative and humorous way which is guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Next Longstanton WI meeting is March 17th, 7:45pm at the Village Hall. The speaker will be Wayne Bent who will give us an exciting talk about Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue. Tea and coffee and some goodies will be served as per usual. Come and join us! All are welcome.

December 2nd marks a celebration of the winter season and fun to be had at a really delicious meal held at the White Horse Oakington. This is the last of the meetings for 2024. We will begin the 2025 program on the the third Monday of the month, Jan 20th, at 7:45pm with a talk by Susan Grossey. The title is "An Author and Her Books". We hope everyone has a lovely time over the holidays and look forward to our next meeting. All are welcome. Just come to the Village Hall in Longstanton and join the fun.

Coming up on Monday, November 18th we are having a speaker evening. The subject is "The Woman Who Got You The Vote", plus a competition entitled A Picture Of My Gtrandma. It should be an interesting evening. All are welcome. Longstanton Village Hall, 7:45pm.
