It's time for another trip down memory lane, and this month, we are revisiting the strangest year we've ever had: 2020 📆

It was our fifth year as an independent brewery when a little virus called Covid-19 turned the world upside down. The brewing and hospitality industries ground to a halt, and we had to make lots of big, important decisions.

Funnily enough, 2020 ended up being a pivotal year for Pillars as we used the drop in operations to refine our brand and double down on our mission to become the UK's best independent lager producer.

What do the cyclist boom of the 1920s and a refreshing lager have in common? 🚲

In 1922, near Munich, innkeeper Frank Kugler was faced with 13,00 thirsty cyclists and began to run out of beer. It made a 50/50 blend of lager and lemonade, and the Radlermass (cyclist litre) was born.
