On Thursday the 7th of May Jazz at Trades is excited to welcome a very special guest, Tori Freestone!

Ivor Novello Award winning saxophonist/flautist/violinist Tori Freestone features in many of the UK’s most exciting ensembles having performed with Internationally renowned players from the world of jazz, folk and world music including world renowned Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal, Ingrid and Christine Jensen, Arabic singer Natasha Atlas, Cleo Laine/Dankworth Band and Huw Warren. As well as running her own critically acclaimed duo and trio she also currently plays with many large ensembles including the Nikki Iles and Julian Siegel Jazz orchestras and holds the tenor 1 chair in the London Jazz Orchestra. Tori will be accompanied by a great rhythm section of Leo Morland (guitar), Tom Rivière (double bass) and George Grundy (drums).

On Thursday the 2nd of April Jazz at Trades is delighted to welcome the Tom Ward Trio!

Tom Ward is a 23-year-old up-and-coming jazz pianist, specialising in the stride piano style of the 1920s and 1930s. Heavily influenced by jazz legends such as Fats Waller, Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson, Tom has already graced the stage at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Ronnie Scott’s. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Jamie Cullum, Kansas Smitty’s, and Guy Barker. Towards the end of 2025, Tom featured as a special guest in Guy Barker’s Big Band Christmas at the Royal Albert Hall. The trio will be completed by Ben Love on double bass and George Grundy on drums.

We’re delighted to welcome vocalist Ineza Kerschkamp to our next Jazz at Trades on Tuesday the 3rd of March!

Ineza is a Rwandan born, Belgian raised jazz vocalist based in the UK, known for a warm, expressive voice and a strong sense of storytelling. Rooted in the jazz tradition and shaped by soul and contemporary influences, her singing combines emotional depth with musical clarity. Her debut album IBUKA (2025) introduced her as a compelling vocalist and songwriter, while her live work continues to define her as a distinctive voice in modern jazz. Ineza will be accompanied by a great rhythm section featuring Chris Bland (piano), Tom Rivière (double bass) and George Grundy (drums).

Jazz at Trades returns on Thursday the 5th of February! Featuring special guest Ashley Bonfante on alto saxophone!

Ashley has a highly individual sound as an improviser and composer. Heavily influenced by music of black origin - most notably saxophone legends Charlie Parker, Ornette Coleman, and John Coltrane - his work as a collaborator and band leader has led him to become an integral member of the jazz scene here in London and further afield. Ashley will be accompanied by a great band featuring Matt Hurley (guitar), Tom Rivière (bass) and George Grundy (drums).

Our next gig is a special!

Join us on Tuesday the 18th of November for a slice of London Jazz Festival in the heart of Walthamstow, featuring the amazing .ellis.beckles group.

Fresh from releasing their debut album Worlds Apart last year, this is an energetic and adventurous band with a fresh perspective on contemporary jazz.
