‼️TODAY: Students and Staff confront Provost of LCC on closure of Darkroom Bar‼️

Today students and staff marched to the office of Interim Provost of LCC to demand a commitment to save the Darkroom Bar! 

For weeks student officers have been asking nicely for UAL to listen to students. It was time to show UAL, and specifically Provost of LCC, how much the Darkroom means to students across UAL.

We asked him to attend a public meeting with students next week and to bring key decisionmakers. He said he would check his diary... 

We told him that we would not leave until he agreed a date and time to meet with students next week to discuss how UAL can ensure there is a student-run bar in the new LCC building 🛑✋

When asked why there could not be a bar in the new building, he said it was “too complex and expensive” - we don’t buy it. We know that only last week UAL agreed to give CCI (Creative Computing Institute) space on the 10th floor of the new LCC building. The plans can be changed when it suits UAL.  

📣 He agreed to meet to attend a public meeting with students and staff in Darkroom Bar next TUESDAY THE 17TH 6PM (exact time TBC)

🚨 We will need as many students there as possible to make sure he understands that we are not giving up 🚨

The final quiz of the term is all wrapped up and what a quiz it was! Christmas 🎁 ⛄

We were blessed to have Father Christmas himself hosting while on excellent form. 🎅🎅

While festive treats were enjoyed by all, only one team could walk away with the top prize and Christmas glory in their hearts.

Thanks to all who have attended and enjoyed the quizzes this term, keep an eye out for quiz announcements in the new year! Till then allow us to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a bountiful new year! 🎄
