Saturday 6th of September will definitely be a day to remember by all who attended our annual tractor, truck, lorry & car run.
This year our run was dedicated to one of our own committee members Anne Lavelle, who sadly and very suddenly after a short illness passed away in June. A woman known by so many and was the centre of many events throughout the community, and Saturday just screamed how much she was well known and loved.! We couldn’t have anticipated a better turn out on the day, monies donated, prizes donated and all the help throughout, and for that from the bottom of our hearts we thank you all.!!
We would like to make a special thank you to a few, firstly to Brian Turley for the use of his field on Saturday. It was very appreciated for you to allow us to do so.
To John Collins Butchers in Bessbrook who sponsored our food on Saturday by donating a massive 12kg of steak pieces.!
To Bernie Lavelle the queen of the kitchen who stood tirelessly for hours peeling & cooking a massive pot of stew for all our attendees of the run. To say it went down a treat is an understatement, as shown by a few faces when they went for thirds and none left.
To the chip van who attended and provided well needed and tasty food throughout the day and night.
To our bands, Mickey the Butcher, the DJ King & Whiskey Business for the fantastic music throughout the day & late into the night.! It was just brilliant from start to finish.
To Mickey Savage, our auctioneer, your performance just topped the whole day off when you stood up and done your magic in auctioning off our items and got the last few pennies out of the bidders pockets before it ended up in the till. Just brilliant and very enjoyed by all.!!
To everyone else who made the who day an absolute success, by helping, organising & by being there. From the bottom of our hearts from all at the mountain house and the committee we send every ounce of gratitude to you all.!!!
Anne would have been looking down watching, laughing and I’m sure jiving along, as we all know herself and Tommy were the stars of the dance floor.!!!
Below is the list of prizes donated that was raffled, auctioned and won by. We can’t thank all the local and wider businesses enough for their generosity through donations & prizes we were completely overwhelmed with it all. Apologies if we have missed anyone out but please take this message of thanks to all who made our 2025 run a massive success.
