Our approach was to blur boundaries between the exhibition themes and show the intersectionality of music, history and human connections. In designing the exhibition, we placed equal importance on sound and silence; our aim was to underscore the significance of oral tradition alongside the weight of undocumented Black history. Visitors journey through a space where echoes of the past converge to enrich British culture.

We are delighted to share with you images of our latest show . Traversing musical genres, from classical, gospel and jazz through to reggae, jungle and afroswing, Beyond the Bassline is the first major exhibition to document the 500-year musical journey of African and Caribbean people in Britain.

As a women-led business, we often collaborate with other women, and some of them have truly inspired us, especially when it comes to culture and ecology. Today, we would like to celebrate the work of artist , with whom we were lucky to collaborate on her project ‘The Colours of Transformation.’ The film gives a voice to women from marginalized communities and explores our deep connection with nature. Through interviews with pioneering change-makers and activists, the film aims to inspire younger generations who face uncertain futures.

We highly recommend checking out her work, and we hope she continues to inspire and empower many young people.

Everyday is but today is a great opportunity to talk about the urgency of climate action. Our new exhibition: At Home at the Biennale Internationale Design St Etienne just opened. Housing is a human right but by 2050 there might be up to 1.2 billion climate refugees. There will be no home for them to go to. By taking simple steps to reduce waste we can make a huge difference. Earth is our home, let’s take care of it with all our heart and soul as it is the only home we’ll ever have.

Today is International Women’s Day, a celebration of women’s achievements but also a reminder that the gap between men and women still exists. In these gloomy times we are going through, let’s see the glass half full. Four years ago, only 17% of UK businesses were founded by females. This year the number of UK businesses currently owned by women is 32%, it’s an incredible progress in only a few years. Let’s keep working together towards a more egalitarian world and get this unfinished business finished.

“Over the last few years, I have been shocked to see unsustainable projects awarded prestigious accolades from the design industry. When Design Week asked me if I wanted to take part in this year’s judging panel, I got really excited – feeling that it was an opportunity to raise this on-going issue within the design industry.

Designers have a key role to play in sustainability. We are essentially at the starting point of the product life cycle, and it is our responsibility to ensure we reduce the impact on the environment. We are here not only as designers but also as communicators and we need to challenge what is being done right now. We need change and we need it fast.”
