Job vacancies | Casual Taproom Team Members (bar & kitchen)

We’re looking for enthusiastic people to join our casual team at the Taproom, with exciting opportunities to work both behind the bar and in the kitchen!

On the floor, you’ll welcome customers, serve drinks to a high standard, use your knowledge of our beers to help with customers’ choices and help keep the Taproom clean and well presented.

In the kitchen, you’ll support food preparation and service, making sure orders are carried out accurately and efficiently, while helping to keep the kitchen clean and organised.

KEY DETAILS:
• Award-winning, modern brewery taproom environment.
• £13.45 per hour, plus £1.63 per hour in holiday pay.
• Casual hours Thursdays-Saturdays with available shifts shared via Whatsapp.
• Opportunity to work either behind the bar, in the kitchen, or ideally, flexibly across both.
• A range of benefits including one free beer for every shift worked, free food on shifts over 6 hours, staff discount on takeaway cans, paid training and more.
• No experience necessary as full, paid training is provided.

The successful candidate will be friendly, reliable and passionate about great beer, food and hospitality. You’ll be confident working with customers, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and happy to get stuck in across both the bar and kitchen. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and pride in what you do are what matter most.

Third week of the month means cycling club 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

- Thursday, 17th September @ 6pm -

This month’s ride is a little celebration of our recent Community Sport Hero award which we won as a result of the positive impact both our Cycling Club and Run Club have had on the local community.

We’re chuffed to bits to have won and it’s all down to everyone who comes along, gets involved and supports the clubs 🫶 So, as a little thank you, Happy Hour is being extended until 8pm for all riders this Thursday, meaning 25% off all draught beer when you get back to the Taproom🍺 Oh, and there’ll be a bit of cake to go round too! 🍰

September’s ride sees a new 30km route out through Conwy, climbing through Sychnant Pass, then dropping down through Llechwedd, Rowen and Tyn-y-Groes, before heading through Henryd to Conwy, and back towards base⛰️

There’s also a modified route of around 21km which reduces the climb if you want to take it a little easier.

We won! 🏆

The Taproom’s been named Community Sport Hero for Wales at the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards!

The awards recognise pubs across the UK that go above and beyond for their local community through sport, fundraising, sustainability and general community support.

On Tuesday, Dave and Emma headed down to the House of Commons after we were put forward for the award by our local MP, Claire Hughes. We were nominated in recognition of the impact our run club and cycling club have had, and we’re chuffed to say we took the trophy home for Wales! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

What began thanks to the hobbies and interests of our own team has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of and bigger than we ever imagined. Our clubs meet every month and set off from the Taproom for either a 5K run, or 30km ride, with a chance to catch up with one another after over a few beers and some food. They’re all about bringing people together, getting active and creating a proper welcoming community around the Taproom 🏃🚴‍♀️

A huge thanks to everyone who’s joined us at either WHRC and/or WHCC. These clubs wouldn’t be what they are without you guys 🫶 Also a massive shoutout to both Shoey and Chris for getting the clubs up and running, and to the whole Taproom team for creating a space where everyone feels welcome 🍻

A big congrats to all the other Community Pub Hero winners, including Bullhouse East for Community Support Hero in Northern Ireland. It was great to see brewery taprooms being represented and to celebrate alongside them, as well as with Society of Independent Brewers 🍻

Here it is… our Oktoberfest lineup👀

We’re bringing a taste of Bavaria to the Taproom allll month long this October, with an Oktoberfest inspired menu and TWO different festbiers pouring in steins every Thursday-Sat in October🍺

Then, on Saturday, 3rd October, we’re going all out with a day of special events👇

- Compete in one of our stein holding competitions for your chance to win all 3 steins for you and your mates. There’s costume prizes too, so don your best lederhosen and dirndls, and a stein and a bratwurst could be yours for the taking🌭🍻

- Bierstacheln available between 6pm-7pm. Get an authentic taste of Germany as we caramelise your Ffestbier with a hot poker, a 400+ year old tradition🔥

- *edit* NEW ADDITION TO SAT 3RD’S LINEUP… 4-piece band Magpies will also now be joining us from 5:30pm-7pm with a lively set of all your favourites and singalong classics to get you up on your feet! 🪩🕺

- Kevin Pritchard Music will be taking to the mic from 7:30pm with an energetic acoustic set to keep the party going!

THU 3RD
Our monthly social run kicks September off with a gentle 5K loop around Llandudno. Then it’s street food and beers back at the Taproom after🍻

THU 10TH
Clwb Celf is back with a step by step paint your pet workshop 🐶🦎Clare will sketch out your favourite photo ahead of the event, so all that’s left to do on the night is bring them to life with a lick of paint! 🎨🖌️

THU 17TH
WHCC takes to the road again for a 30km loop around the local area (exact route TBC.). Go at your own pace, take in the scenery and enjoy a refreshing pint (or 2) back at the Taproom after, with a bit of street food to refuel.

THU 24TH
Our monthly charity quiz night takes place on the last Thursday of every month at 7pm. This time we’re raising money for Wales Air Ambulance Wales Air Ambulance Charity 🚁
Expect fun themed rounds, bonus beer tasting challenges and a raffle to finish things off!

The team have been putting the new menu through its paces👀

Our new in-house kitchen, Y Gegin, serves up a variety of pizzas, hot plates, salads, and more! Each dish has been carefully curated with sharing in mind and work a treat with your favourite Wild Horse pint🍺

Something’s brewing this October…🥨🍺

This year, we’re celebrating Oktoberfest all October long! Enjoys steins of 2 different special release Festbiers and a Bavarian-themed menu every Thursday-Saturday throughout the month.

We’re also taking things up a notch on Saturday, 3rd October🕺
Live music, beer poking, stein holding competitions and plenty more in the works, so keep that date free! Costumes also strongly encouraged. Full lineup dropping soon👀
