I am an experienced farrier of over 16 years. I had a successful business down in Cornwall with clients I was very sad to leave. We have now relocated permanently to the Shetland Islands and have reopened our books for clients on Shetland with the ability to travel to Yell and Unst as well.

I also still travel and cover the Orkney Islands and Caithness as well on a regular cycle.

I have a great passion for all horses both great and small. I have had the pleasure of working with all disciplines within the equine community. I take great pride in my work and strive to enable your horse to move and perform to the best of its ability.

I also offer boot fitting for both Cavello and Scoot boots and am happy to advise on barefoot and management of this.

I believe in a happy horse, happy client relationship.

***Exciting changes for 2026***

Mundell's Forge has some exciting changes coming for 2026.

As many of you will know, Ceri and I have a special affinity with Shetland. After many trials and tribulations we are now able to move our home base to Shetland.

Don't worry there won't be any major changes to our schedules as the majority of our clients are on set schedules anyway as introduced last year in Orkney, Shetland and Caithness. So...

Shetland - will remain on their usual schedule but James will be on hand more in Shetland for any emergencies as our main base will be there.

Orkney - all clients will remain on their schedule and James will be down to Orkney every month to ensure there are no problems as we still will have our base in Orkney with Ceri's folks.

Caithness - no change. The schedule will remain in place as before.

We are very excited by our new chapter and Ceri is excited to restart her career.

Please bear with us while we get everyone sorted over the next few appointments but we hope you will all be supportive in making these changes.

****Shetland help needed******

Does anyone have a small trailer, Stock box or horse trailer that we could borrow for 1 month please?

James pickup is off the road at the garage and we have Ceri's car and tow bar so we can still work as usual from but need to get his gear back to Orkney! Any help would be much appreciated. Please tag anyone who you think may be able to help us!
