An open letter to the people living and working in and around the TS6 area

Over the past few months there has been a massive increase in break ins to our local pubs and clubs. And small businesses. Some of us have been broken into several times and looking at CCTV from various places we believe it’s the same group of criminals. Many break ins occur around 02.00am -04.30am and besides the criminal damage to doors and windows they seem to take charity boxes , a few bottles and sweets. Sometimes they trash the property just for the hell of it . The police can only do so much as we have found out , they can’t be everywhere but hopefully on one or two of these break- ins there had been DNA followed up by arrests . Most recent was the man on the roof in Grangetown. We get one locked up but another appears. Please if you are around or see and hear anything dial 999 immediately. It’s our livelihood, we enjoy our work because each and every pub and clubs in the area is a community hub and a necessity. This is a list of break-ins that we are aware of but there could be more .
Poverina at least 5 times ,Woodmans at least 4 times,Stapleton at least 6 times, ship , miners ,queens,wellington,conquest ,half Moon,Lazenby Club, the shed , Grangetown boys club ,the Beacon South Bank Albion The Sandstone Nab need I go on. Also several shops PC Tech,Normanby Dental,normanby Chippy, Saigon ,Oscars barber, jacks store , if I’ve missed anyone sory. But enough is enough
For what it’s worth if this has affected you please email Anna Turley ,the police and crime commissioner,ben Houchen , let’s kick off and try protect our area. Nobody has been hurt yet and let’s hope it stays that way.
