A new loose group to informally unite like-minded folk and friends who love both walking and radical politics. The idea is to get us out walking more, and together. It'll hopefully work something like this:
1) A Lancaster lefty/radical/socialist/anarchist person (it could be you!) decides they wanna go for a walk. (for example next Sunday morning)
2) They post to this page with where they want t
o walk and when (for example Shirley wants to walk from Arnside to Silverdale on Sunday morning at 11am)
3) An 'event' is created and those who want to join the walk can do so, and discuss finer details there. (for example 'Walk Sunday 24th, 11am, from Arnside Station')
4) a bunch of likeminded folk go for a nice walk, maybe they talk radical politics (anything from queer issues, to anti-fracking, feminism, robbing the rich or whatever) or maybe they just have a nice time exercising and exploring the local area! NOTE- things like picnics or pub lunches can be part of this too, or even group cycle rides. there aren't any leaders, but maps and compasses can be useful, and of course appropriate clothing and footwear. Basically don't get soaked or fall off a mountain and blame us! OUT OF THE PUBS AND INTO THE FIELDS!!!
