After 20 years with Chef & Brewer (yes, really… 20 😅 and nearly 17 of those at The Cross Keys), I’ve decided it’s finally time to escape… I mean move on… to pastures new this July.

I started here at 20, fresh out of uni, full of energy and dreams… and somehow just never left 😂 Clearly they hid the exit well.

It’s been a huge part of my life with loads of laughs, a few questionable days, and more busy services than I care to remember 👀

I’ve worked with and met some amazing people along the way (and survived the rest 😜) – I’ll genuinely miss you all ❤️
I can’t say I enjoyed every minute… but if you’ve ever worked a Saturday night or a Bank Holiday, you’ll understand 😅 Still, I’m really proud of what we’ve built and the team we’ve had.

Don’t worry though, I’m not leaving you in chaos! Ben my Assistant Manager is stepping up, so please be gentle with him… or at least no worse than you were with me 🙃 He’ll do a cracking job 🙌

To celebrate my long-overdue escape, I’ll be having some send-off drinks on 12th June from 6:30pm 🍻Pop in for a drink, a laugh, or just to double-check I’ve actually gone, it would be great to see you!

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of the journey, the staff past & present, customers, and anyone who’s ever had to listen to me behind the bar. It’s been emotional… sometimes for the wrong reasons 🤣💛

Join our kitchen team and help us serve amazing food every day! 🍽️🔥

What you’ll be doing:
• Preparing, cooking & presenting delicious dishes
• Keeping a clean, safe, well‑run kitchen
• Working closely with the team during busy service
• Learning new menu items, skills & kitchen processes

What we’re looking for:
✅ A passion for food
✅ A great team player who thrives under pressure
✅ Someone keen to learn & get stuck in
✅ Pride in serving high‑quality, well‑presented meals
✅ Experience is not essential but will be beneficial as full training will be provided
