A quick update regarding party deposits

I can see there has been quite a bit of confusion and concern around whether people will be receiving their deposits back for upcoming parties following our sudden closure.

I just want to reassure everyone that this is absolutely not the case. We are currently in the process of contacting everyone who had a party booked with us and arranging for all deposits to be refunded.

The closure happened very suddenly and was completely out of our hands, which unfortunately meant we weren’t able to give people the notice we would have liked.

It would never be in my nature to keep anybody’s deposit for a party that we are no longer able to fulfil. We completely understand the frustration and disappointment, especially for those who now have to make alternative arrangements at short notice.

Please bear with us while we work through everyone who has a booking. You will be contacted and your deposit will be refunded.

Hi everyone,

It’s with a very heavy heart that we have to share some difficult news. After much consideration, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close the doors of The George & Dragon.

We would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us, whether you’ve been a regular, visited us occasionally, celebrated special occasions with us, or simply stopped by for a drink and a chat.

The support we’ve received from the local community has meant more to us than we can put into words. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people and creating countless memories along the way, and for that we will always be grateful.

Running a pub is about so much more than just serving food and drinks it’s about people, friendships, laughter and being part of a community. It has truly been a pleasure to be part of yours.

We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved and will look back on our time at The George & Dragon with many happy memories.

Thank you to every single person who has supported us and our team. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Due to the extreme heat, we’ve made the difficult decision to close for the George and dragon for rest of the day.

Temperatures in both the kitchen and play centre have reached very high levels.

We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The safety of our staff and customers is always our main priority.
