Just had this lovely review and photographs from a guest who stayed in South Bank for two months over the autumn/winter:

I spent over two months at South Bank Cottage and yet that still doesn't feel like long enough. It's a haven. The island itself is compact, but laced all over with walks that take you through moorland, machair, loch and white sand shoreline. The house has everything you need, plus a pretty log fire and good bath. There is no television and no internet but that's one of the best things about it. The locals are very kind, a fisherman called Calum gave me a bucketful of crab claws every other week and Terry (who keeps an eye on South Bank) looked after me very well. The Castlebay Hotel Bar is the place to go for a drink. The house is well stocked with maps and books about Barra as well as paperbacks if you forgot to bring enough books.

My Dad (1925-2014), who rebuilt the two houses, outside Harbour Cottage. It is nearly 50 years (1969) since Mum, Dad and Gerard Campbell first welcomed guests to the cottages.
