We don't all want weddings that are conducted in churches and registry offices. Some of us aren't religious, you are a couple who have different religions, you might be spiritual, you may not want to be restricted to what you can or can not say. The venues you find might not be "quite what you are looking for". You may just want a day that is different from your friends. Well...there is another way you can have a wedding YOUR way.. A celebrant can conduct a wedding anywhere (with permission), a garden, by the sea, a forest, a pub....limitless ideas. Together we would meet and discuss your dream ceremony, I can offer ideas but it's your ceremony. You might want your love story told, readings, songs, others to speak at it, a ritual added.. With all the information we discuss I go away and write you a bespoke ceremony, which you get to see and change until it is exactly right for you both. We can do this in person but I usually email or we can Skype to make changes. I then conduct the ceremony where you want it. Yes, it can be in a venue even if they have a registrar too. I can attend the rehearsal if needed. On the day I'll be there early to meet each of you, separately, to check details, let you know I'm there and calm any nerves you might have. I can liaise with your other wedding providers too. Celebrant led weddings are not legal marriages, so if you want to be legally married you still need to go along to the registry office and do the legal part there (it's short and sweet). I usually advise my couples to sneak off a few weeks or days before their wedding day, saving their ring exchange and wearing your wedding dress for the wedding day. Some couples don't even take family members with them just witnesses. Your guests won't know (unless you say) that it's a wedding rather than a marriage.
