An Announcement from Eco Japan:

Unfortunately, Eco Japan will be closing its doors as of March 31st due to personal reasons.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement over the years.

Through this small business, I’ve met wonderful people who gave me a reason to keep going even during and after COVID-19. I appreciate every bit of support and every relationship.

Also, I had a truthful relationship with those craftsmen who provided me with their beautiful products. I was so lucky to know them. Their products were embraced by many people. I wish them all the best in their future.

I’ll be at Arm Ltd .at.arm for their office market on Thursday, our last chance to meet in person. If you work there, please come and see me.

Wishing you all the best, stay in touch, and a massive thanks to each and every one of you again.

We will bring some very last stocks of Nozomi Projects, “𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕦𝕥𝕪 𝕚𝕟 𝕓𝕣𝕠𝕜𝕖𝕟𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕤,” and also some other handmade Japanese crafts. Please don’t miss out, as this marks the end of our stock, and there won’t be more in the future. The Nozomi Project sadly bids farewell.

There will also be many stalls which offer wonderful Japanese food, arts, and crafts that you cannot easily find at other markets.

See you there tomorrow!

Thank you, Arm Ltd, for having me at your Christmas market yesterday. I had a wonderful time, and the day was a great success. It was fantastic to see both new and familiar customers at my store, engaging in delightful conversations about Japanese culture and Japan. I am looking forward to a next event next year.

Wishing the entire Arm team a joyful and Merry Christmas! .at.arm

Hello,

⁡The C**k in Hemingford Grey is hosting a Christmas Market this Sunday!

I'll be running a stall featuring Japanese crafts, including Nozomi’s "broken" jewellery—a symbol of "beauty in brokenness." These pieces make for a unique and meaningful Christmas present.

The story behind the products:

This jewellery is up-cycled from broken pottery after the Great East Japan Earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear 'triple' disaster in 2011.

Crafted by a team in Ishinomaki, one of the most affected areas, these items represent more than material possessions. After losing everything, the people of Ishinomaki sought community, dignity, and, above all, hope. Hence, they named the jewelry Nozomi, meaning hope in Japanese. The fragments collected after the disaster provided employment and hope to the women of the Ishinomaki community.

Unfortunately, they will be closing their workspace and business before Christmas so this will be the last chance to acquire one for you or a loved one. I'll be at The C**k Christmas Market this Sunday, and afterward, I'll have a pop-up in London.

If you have the chance, please come and see me this Sunday. The event will also feature lots of other craft and food stalls, a perfect place to pick up some unique Christmas presents.

Many sports kits are constructed from plastic and polyester because they need to be lightweight, water-resistant, and durable. So, when considering eco-friendly gear making the right choice matters. Our village football team has chosen a kit from made from a polyester that uses recycled water bottles!

Convenience can sometimes cause us to overlook details, but remember, you always have the option to contribute to a better environment. So, opt for choices that have a lower environmental impact AND look good & perform well!

This week has turned out to be a little bit creative.
They have been made using sea pottery from Japan along with hand-made dried flowers.

Can you see sea pottery that looks like Mt. Fuji in the picture? Well, hopefully! I fell in love with this rare piece of broken pottery and wanted to frame it. Here it is 🙌
