The 29th Chappel Beer Festival has come and gone, we all had a lovely time and the weather, despite the slightly gloomy forecast, was just ideal for the event.
Our "In the Pink" ( a natural fermentation Ale matured for 6 years with a very generous helping of cherries and a few raspberries added for good measure and then, after the long conditioning, blended with a new fresh brew, in the style of a Belgian "Gueuze". A rich sweet taste well complimented by the new freshness) went down very well and that is what Beer Festivals, in my opinion, are all about, trying new flavours and Beers which are not normally available in the Pub.
A big "Thank You" to the organisers and all of, you that supported the event.
The next "Biggy" is the Chelmsford Winter Beer and Cider Festival, we are getting ready planning new Brews, hope to see you there. Thanks !!!

At the Felstar Brewery the excitement is building up as on Tuesday 11th of August the annual pilgrimage to the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) at Olympia in London will begin, a feast for the eyes, the taste buds and the egos as most Brewers will be attending and talking "shop" while drinking a copious amount of the Ales available.
Last week we delivered "Old Essex" a 3.9%abv brewed with Maris Otter malted barley and traditional Kentish hops like Fuggles and Goldings not forgetting a lot of enthusiasm and know how, a good honest Ale which, hopefully, will be well received.
