THANK YOU DDE 2026!

Well that’s DDE over for another year, and what a year it was! The vibe around town and the atmosphere in the venues was incredible. Seeing Dundee burst into life like that and everyone smiling and having such a great time is what Dundee Dance Event is all about. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so special.

There are so many people to thank who worked tirelessly for months on DDE to bring everything together. Without that amazing team behind me, there wouldn’t be a DDE.

Thank you to the bar owners and managers for handing over your venues to us for the day, it’s much appreciated. You and your staff do a great job of welcoming DDE goers and making sure they didn’t go thirsty.

A big thank you to 213 DJs and artists who came from over Scotland, England and even Spain to keep everyone dancing for 12 hours. I hope you all had a great day and thank you for that continued support and apologies to those I didn’t manage to catch up with on the day.

A special mention to Billy Gillies for agreeing to stay back after his gig in Aberdeen on Friday to be our surprise guest DJ at the Rave Cave, before flying home to Belfast on Monday.

All the DJs and promoters who programmed their own venues, along with a whole host of other behind the scenes stuff you do to help pull it all together, it’s also appreciated - thank you.

A huge thank you to Richard Martin and Gordon Robertson who play a massive role in the event each year including design, social media, DDE app, video creation and visuals, organising the media team … the list goes on.

You guys both put in a shift and a half every single year for months leading up to the event and go above and beyond for the DDE cause. Outstanding effort once again boys, thank you so much, DDE wouldn’t be what it is without you guys.

Chris Clark is another guy who deserves a special mention. He’s worked tirelessly alongside me for a few years now to, not only to look after your safety at the event through his security teams, but also being alongside me at meetings with the police and council to help get approval for the outdoor stage as it was, and the last couple of years at the Rave Cave.

Thanks mate. You are such an important part of the team and I appreciate all the advice, support and ideas, and everything else you do for me and the event.

Thanks to Mrs Merch McD who had 16 big boxes of merch turn up a couple of weeks before the event and had to sort it all out. Apologies for that, but thank you for all your hard work and everything you do for the event - and mainly - for putting up with ‘DDE Mike’ for weeks on end leading up to the event.

Other event stalwarts were the bar staff, the scanning staff, merch staff, event manager Kirstyn Fullerton who put in another tremendous shift as did bar manager Mark Stuart – thank you so much troops!

Thanks to Gus and Robin and the rest of the Live House team who gave us brilliant support and did so much work for us again this year for the car park and Closing Party.

Nellie Rodgers, with new addition to the team Nat, who once again put in a shift and a half over the weekend - thanks guys. Hooly and Sid who organised things at the front door for car park attendees. Superb guys.

Murray Boyle helped with loads of stuff for the event and looked after our special guest DJ, including pick-ups and drop offs and an airport run. Cheers for the efforts mate, it’s much appreciated.

Digger who put in a shift once again, Derek and John the poster guys - and for helping at the car park, Dave too, and everyone else who helped out - cheers lads. Thanks to Verity Power for the stilt walking and fire blowing skills - awesome job yet again!

The sound, light and tech guys Mitch, Drew, Barry, Stephen, Ricky, Reece, Charlie and their respective teams who looked after the sound, light, tech and power at the venues - thanks guys, it’s always a tough day but everything seemed to go to plan, bar a few curve balls that you’re always going to get with so many venues needing tech.

The production guys at Live House did an amazing job - James on lasers and Andrew on visuals - it looked unreal lads, thank you!

Doug and his team who put in some shift to get the car park set up and taken down again.

Derrick at DCC, Lee and Steph at GAP for all the infrastructure at the car park and David at Sunbelt for the traffic management - thank you.

Thanks to Eric and the Redcrest team who looked after the first aid areas at the Car Park Stage.

Thank you to the companies and businesses that supported and sponsored DDE this - Jacky and the team at Tele Taxis who support us every single year, it is so much appreciated. Fiona at Tollhouse, Jimmy at JF Kegs, Daniela at Sazerac, Lee at Elvie Framing, Tony at Eastside Flooring, Nath at Monster, Jazzy at Threads, Manny and Shivani at Hotel Indigo, Darren at Diigr and Gill at the Shack.

John Ferrie at Icon Signs for supporting the event yet again as well as creating the DDE signage and the other bits and pieces of running about you do to help the event, cheers Ferrie lad. Apologies to anyone I’ve missed out - it’s not intentional, it’s DDE-itis.

Please let us know if you have any feedback about the event … any suggestions, things we can change or do better, what you’d like to see at future events - drop us a message at [email protected]

If anyone missed out on getting DDE merch on Sunday - we'll have what's left over on the website soon and we'll let you know when it's ready to order.

So that’s pretty much it. DDE is over and out for another year. Have an amazing summer!

Big, massive, huge, giant love!

Mike❤️
