VISIT THE HEART OF DEVON
For over 300 years The Ram’s Head Inn has offered fine ales, home-cooked food and restful accommodation to all who have come through the door. Situated on the Tarka Trail and with Dartmoor and the North Devon coast within easy reach, award winning chef Nicolas Boucher and family continue the tradition, warmly welcoming walkers, cyclists and local friends alike into their c
osy dog-friendly inn. DELICIOUS FOOD & DRINK
Located in the heart of a traditional farming community, we champion fresh West Country produce, sourcing our meat, fish, vegetables and other ingredients from local butchers, farmers and suppliers wherever possible. Our carefully crafted slow-cooked dishes are rich in flavour and beautifully presented – nothing leaves the kitchen until it is just right. The twist in our culinary tale is Nicolas himself – a Michelin-accredited French chef from the Vendée region of Western France, he brings years of fine dining experience and an encyclopaedic knowledge of wine to the heart of rural Devon. Traditional dishes are elevated to another level of taste and hints of classic French cuisine pepper his seasonal menus. We are proud to have at least two delicious local guest ales and a Devon cider on tap. We also have Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone cider, our gin selection is pretty good and a member of our team was a professional mixologist in a previous life so we can pretty much conjour up anything you fancy! And it goes without saying that we also serve a great range of non and low-alcohol drinks. STAY WITH US
Our eight well-appointed ensuite bedrooms offer a mixture of king-sized beds, twin beds and family accommodation for short breaks and longer stays. Climb into a bed topped with a luxurious mattress and pure cotton bed-linen for a refreshing night’s sleep. Breakfast is included with your stay – freshly cooked with heaps of Nico’s homemade bread straight out of the oven on the side (the best bread you will ever taste – baguettes and sour dough loaves also available to take away while stocks last). Come and see us soon - there is always a very warm welcome at The Ram's Head Inn
