Did you know Falkland has a special place in whisky history? 🥃

In this video, Ninian Stuart, Hereditary Keeper of Falkland Palace, shares the story of King James IV and the famous 1494 record ordering Friar John Cor to make “aqua vitae” (“water of life”), widely recognised as the earliest written record connected to Scotch whisky, made right here in Falkland over 500 years ago.

A fascinating piece of local history and a reminder of why Falkland is such a fitting home for our whisky festival.
