Gwen Bolch.
Gwen was “part of the furniture” at the Queens Head for a very long time. A real character and such a laugh to work with. She was everybody’s mate and there for anyone in need, throughout the village and beyond.
She was always there for me, my rock through thick and thin, treated my daughter as if she was one of her own grandchildren and it is with a broken heart that I now tell you of her passing.
My thoughts and prayers, and I hope yours too, are with her daughters, Sue, Karen and Michelle and her grand and great grandchildren, and the rest of the family, especially Bekki, who also worked at the pub.
Rest in peace mate. Jan 1942 to May 2020.

What an amazing night for Oli.
Thank you all for donating prizes, helping out, coming along, taking part and everything else.
The total raised is a fantastic £1293.30!
I'm overwhelmed, and I'm sure Oli and his family will be too.
Thank you all 😘

Save the date.
Thursday 29th March (evening)

Some of you may have seen Jayne Hilsdon's posts about her son Oli and her fundraising to get him treatment for brain cancer, which he has sadly been re-diagnosed with.

Oli worked for me at The Queens Head from 6th form through his uni years.
He's a great guy and I'd really like to try to help.

I've not finalised the plan yet, but it will involve a set supper, quiz and raffle. Let me know if you have any other suggestions, and if you've got anything to donate as raffle prizes.

I will update as I firm up the plans.

Thanks

Fran

We are sad to hear that Clays, our local butchers who have supplied us with top quality meat for many years, have decided to call it a day.
