Coach and Horses, Carshalton The Coach & Horses is a lovely traditional pub on the corner of Carshalton High Street over looking the ponds. It was part of a block of five cottages.

The Coach & Horses, on the corner of The High Street & The Square was originally a harness-makers shop with five rooms through the first part of the 19th century. At the rear was a corn mill which used the water fed from the hog pit pond in Carshalton Park. The stream ran through a culvert and an arch into Carshalton Ponds. It is said that it was visible from the pub's beer cellar. Bailey Andrews

of Bath put the freehold of the property up for auction in 1849, and the harness-makers and the shop next door were bought by William Blake; a member of the family of auctioneers handling the sale. He combined the two properties and leased the property to Crowley's Brewery of Croydon to open as a beer shop. Times passed but we still have a great range of beers, wines and spirits in our small bar. If you chose to sit around the bar, you can watch sports on one of our big screen TVs, moan about the weather, politicians or the state of British High Streets. Alternatively have a good banter with our regulars. Our secret garden is maintained by our regulars, so that you might be given vegetables to take home during your visit. We do also have occasional child steps heard within the pub too... Anywho, hope to see you soon

This February, the fantastic Paige has been taking on an incredible challenge โ€“ 100 squats every single day for the whole month โ€“ all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Thatโ€™s 2,800 squats across Februaryโ€ฆ and all for a cause that touches so many of us. ๐Ÿ‘

Weโ€™re so proud to support her efforts and the brilliant work Cancer Research UK does in funding life-saving research and supporting those affected by cancer.
