LAUGHTER AT BRANSTON GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, BURTON ON TRENT THIS THURSDAY

Funhouse Comedy Club visits Branston Golf & Country Club, Burton on Trent on Thursday October 6th for a night of fun and laughter.

Headlining is the intelligent, controversially witty, hip and silly Markus Birdman. Regarded by many in the know as one of the best circuit acts in the country, he has toured internationally and had highly acclaimed shows at the Edinburgh Festival. His dandyish onstage confidence, versatility and infectious nature result in a truly absorbing performance.

Supporting is Welsh comic Noel James. Surreal, bizarre, absurd, intelligent and yet somehow strangely attractive. Before entering showbiz Noel tried his hand at teaching, without much success. He taught English as a foreign language: he taught it as Welsh!

Completing the line-up is James Cook with his sharp tongue and dry sense of humour. Having worked as a presenter on commercial radio stations, he went on air with A-ha and presented Lenny Henry with his ‘Walk of Fame’; experiences which have added to his comedy writing ideas.

Compere for the night is the optimistic and entertaining Dave Bryon.

New season of comedy in Burton starts with two cracking nights in Sept. First is on Wed 14th at Tower Brewery in aid of Bass Charity Vase. Line-up includes Matt Green, Nick Page, and Lynn Ruth Miller. MC is Dave Bryon. Tickets are £10 from 07503 217166. Then on Thurs 22nd its over to the Brewhouse Arts Centre for the wonderful Tom Binns with three of his unique sets including Ian D Montford and Ivan Brackenbury. Funhouse Comedy are back on Thursday Apr 14th with a cracking line-up for you featuring TV's Gary Delaney headlining the show who is regularly a panelist on "Mock The Week".

Headlining is Gary Delaney a regular guest on TV’s ‘Mock The Week’ and also a writer for TV, Radio and other comedians. He was the only stand-up to have two of his jokes named in the top ten gags at 2010's Edinburgh Fringe. Well known for his taut, brilliant one-liners Gary Delaney is very much in demand on the comedy circuit. The large quantity of his quick-fire gags leaves his audiences struggling to remember them all.

Opening the show is comedian, writer and actor Tim Clark. He has been a stand-up comic for most of his adult life and is known as one of the brightest lights on the comedy scene. Travelling all over the country to perform, Tim has previously toured with Frank Skinner. His quick wit and affable nature endears him to all who are present.

Also appearing will be Ant Dewson who classes himself as a ‘comedian, piano player and singer of silly songs’! His humorous and articulate ditties cover a variety of subjects and never fail to enthral the crowd.

Compere for the night is the positive and amusing Dave Bryon.
