What a day. ❤️

When we first heard the vision behind TAMILYMPICS, we knew it was something special. This wasn’t just about sports. It was about creating a space where competition, culture, community and connection could all come together under one roof.

From the 100m sprints to the team competitions, from the food stalls to the networking, from the athletes to the creatives, the atmosphere was incredible from start to finish.

We were proud to power the event as the official sponsor and provide catering alongside the amazing team at . Seeing hundreds of people come together to celebrate Tamil culture was something truly special.

What impressed us most was seeing two young entrepreneurs turn an idea into reality. Massive credit to and for creating something completely different and giving our community an event it can genuinely be proud of.

The best part? It wasn’t just athletes who showed up. We saw Tamil singers, footballers, boxers, actors, streamers, influencers and even business owners all sharing the same space, supporting one another and creating memories together.

This is what community looks like.

We’re proud to have played a small part in such a special day and can’t wait to see where TAMILYMPICS goes next. 🚀

What started as a simple trip back home turned into something much bigger than just content.

Through this series, we wanted to showcase the real side of Sri Lankan food, culture, spices, markets, farms, traditions and the people behind it all and something different to what most restaurants usually show.

At Copper Ceylon, we’re always learning, always growing, and always trying to elevate the experience we bring to our customers. This journey was all about going back to our roots, understanding authentic flavours even deeper, and bringing that inspiration back to Bromley✨

Episode 7: Rice & Curry 🇱🇰🍛

One thing about Sri Lankan “rice and curry”… it’s never just one curry 👀

From dhal, carrot sambol, eggplant, moju and mango, to green beans, cabbage, mallum, potato cutlets and papadams… this was one of the most authentic vegetarian spreads we had during our trip.

Cooked using traditional family methods in Manori’s kitchen, this is the kind of food that reminds you why Sri Lankan home cooking is so special 🇱🇰✨

Episode 6: Fresh From Negombo 🇱🇰🦀

An early morning at Negombo Fishery Market collecting fresh lagoon crabs, lagoon prawns, and the catch of the day straight from the source.

From walking through the market ourselves to taking the ingredients directly to the chef this was all about experiencing how authentic Sri Lankan seafood should really taste.

Fresh ingredients. Authentic flavours. No shortcuts.
That’s exactly the energy we’re trying to bring to Copper Ceylon 🍛✨

This trip has been all about exploring organic produce, experimenting with different spices, flavours, and understanding where great food truly begins.

From fresh cassava and farm-grown ingredients to traditional toddy tapped straight from the trees 🍶🌴 — a naturally fermented palm drink that’s been part of Sri Lankan culture for generations.

Episode 4: Dried Fish 🇱🇰🐟

Today we visited the local fish markets in Negombo to see how Sri Lankan dried fish is traditionally prepared.

From cleaning the fish, to soaking it in salt water for days, and finally drying it under the sun for over a week — this process helps preserve it for up to a year.

For many Sri Lankans, dried fish isn’t just food. It’s culture, nostalgia, and a staple side dish that’s been part of rice & curry meals for generations.

What most people don’t realise is that it’s also a huge export industry back home too 👀
