4 of our Blossoms W**e Club members met last night , and the theme for the evening was ‘full bodied autumn w**es’ 🍁🎃🌻🍂
Four reds were brought along-
🌼 Las Dalias, an Argentinian Malbec, £12 bought from M & S.
From the label-
'A juicy Malbec with vibrant plum and dark fruit flavours.
The grapes were grown in Argentina's Uco Valley region of Mendoza where abundant sunshine and dramatic variation in temperatures makes for w**es of exceptional balance and roundness'
🦘Yellow tail , an Australian Merlot , £8.75 from Asda-
Style: Soft, velvety, and smooth,
Yellow tail Merlot is an excellent alternative to the heavier and more tannic red varieties.
Aroma: Soft aromas of ripe plums, mulberries, lingering vanilla and the sweet spiciness of Christmas cake.
Flavour: Soft and smooth, with notes of dark plum, mulberries and subtle spice.
🥩Carnivor, a Californian Zinfandel bought from Tesco , £12
‘Carnivor W**emaker's selected a large portion of the fruit for the Zinfandel from premier vineyards in Lodi. A leading California w**egrowing region for over 150 years. Lodi first earned its high-quality w**e reputation from the robust, fruit-forward and exceptionally well-structured Zinfandel grown there. The warm days and cool nights of Lodi's Mediterranean climate are ideal conditions for growing intensely ripe grapes while still retaining signature acidity and structure’
🇦🇺And Reprobates Red, an Australian blend bought from Aldi for £5.99
‘A uniquely Australian blend creating a wonderful medium-bodied red w**e.
Dark berry aromas are complemented by oak-aged notes of vanilla and chocolate.
Soft and fruit forward on the palate, it's perfectly balanced with a fine finish’
🏆 The winning W**e on the night was the Carnivor, the only w**e with 2 votes, so well done to Kay for bringing that one along 😋
An enjoyable evening tasting w**e we may not have tried before and enjoying w**e we may not have enjoyed previously. And lovely snacks to try too keeping in theme - which included dark chocolate, black olives, blackberries, orange marmalade loaf cake and savoury twists
Thank you to the ladies that came along & of course a very big thank you to our host Claire who welcomed us into her lovely cozy home again. 🔥
Please note- none of us are experts, in fact I chose my w**e as it had an autumnal looking label! 😂
Lovely company, lots of laughter and discovering new w**es— what more could you ask for?
