Somewhere to Sit began as a simple idea rooted in Black Country values — that no one should feel alone, overlooked, or without a place to belong. Founded to tackle rising loneliness, social isolation, and poor mental health across Wednesbury and the surrounding towns, the charity is built on the belief that community starts with connection. Through creating safe, welcoming spaces, offering regular social activities, and bringing people together across generations, Somewhere to Sit aims to rebuild confidence, spark friendships, and give every resident a place where they feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger.
