Before… and after! ✨

It’s amazing seeing everyone’s reaction when they walk into the bar for the first time, trying to work out where everything used to be before the renovation.

The transformation has brought back plenty of memories while creating something new for the future.

After all the renovations, planning and hard work, seeing the place full of life, laughter and familiar faces again was something very special.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for the soft launch. The Five Corners is back, and moments like this are exactly what it’s all about — good food, good drinks, great company and a few classics on the dancefloor.

"It's a new Five Corners, but it's still The Five Corners." ❤️

Jennifer reflects on some of the memories that have filled these walls over the years.

From packed dance floors, live music and unforgettable nights of fun, to pool teams, darts matches and generations of regulars, The Five Corners has always been more than just a venue. It's been a place where people come together.

One of the things Jennifer speaks most passionately about is the people. The familiar faces who call in for a chat, the friendships built over the years, and the sense of community that has always made The Five Corners feel like home to so many.

While the building is being transformed, the things that matter most remain the same... The staff, the welcome, the atmosphere, and the community spirit that has been at the heart of The Five Corners for generations.

With the final touches now being completed, we're nearly ready to welcome everyone back through the doors.

Opening Friday 12th June 👀

The building may be changing, but the heart of The Five Corners remains exactly where it's always been.

A look back through the memories of The Five Corners Guest Inn…

A huge thank you to Max & Heather McConnell for sharing these old photos with us from their time at The Five Corners.

From the old aerial views of the building, to the bar as it once was, the familiar faces behind the counter, packed nights, local characters, celebrations, and all the little details that made the place feel like home — these photos tell a story that so many people in Ballyclare and the surrounding area will remember.

As we get ready to open the doors again, it feels only right to look back and honour the history of the building, the people who ran it, the staff who worked here, and everyone who made memories inside these walls over the years.

The Five Corners has always been more than just a bar or guest inn. It has been a meeting place, a local landmark, and a part of people’s lives.

We’ve also been uploading new videos to our socials, sharing memories from the past, renovation updates, and a few familiar faces as we get ready for the next chapter. Make sure to check them out and follow along.

this next part of Max & Heather’s story looks at another huge part of The Five Corners — the rooms, the residents and the people who passed through over the years.

In this clip, Max & Heather talk about how the accommodation grew from just a few rooms into the 12 rooms now part of The Five Corners Guest Inn.

Over the years, they welcomed all sorts of people through the doors — bikers, golfers, overseas visitors, regulars, and those who had once lived locally and always made a point of calling back in to say hello.

They also reflect on how the building changed over time, from the old upstairs and downstairs atmosphere, to the smoking ban, the coffee shop, morning fries, scones and all the wee chats that became part of daily life here.

It’s another lovely reminder that The Five Corners has always been more than a bar or guest inn. It has been a place for people, stories, familiar faces and memories.

And now, with the rooms getting a big upgrade too in the near future, the next chapter is getting closer.
