📰 WELL… WE’VE MADE THE FRONT PAGE! 😂🦊

We never quite imagined that one of our Facebook posts would end up being front-page news… but here we are! 😂

We’ve seen the article, and we know plenty of people have now seen it too — including some who have probably never even stepped through the doors of The Snooty Fox.

So, we thought we’d say a little more ourselves.

Firstly, we never contacted any press about this.
We were never contacted by them before the story was published either.

Our original post was simply something we shared on our own page after finally deciding that enough was enough when it came to a very small minority of people causing damage, making unacceptable mess and behaving disrespectfully towards our staff.

And we really want to stress this:

This is NOT an everyday problem at The Snooty Fox.

The incidents mentioned have happened occasionally over a long period of time, and they have been caused by a tiny minority of people.

Unfortunately, when you run a busy local pub, sometimes a handful of people can cause enough problems that you have to draw a line and say no more.

But that tiny minority is absolutely not representative of our customers.

The overwhelming majority of people who come through our doors are fantastic. ❤️

Our regulars are brilliant, our customers support us week after week, our team work incredibly hard, and we’re genuinely proud of the pub and the community we’ve built here.

So if you’ve only just heard about us because you saw the newspaper…

Please don’t let one headline tell you what we’re like. 😂

Come in. Have a drink. Meet the team. Meet the regulars. Have a laugh.

Judge us for yourselves. 🦊❤️

Because there’s a hell of a lot more to The Snooty Fox than a tiny minority, a Facebook post and a newspaper headline. 😂

And to all of our regulars and customers who already know exactly what we’re about…

🚨 Not our usual post… but this needs to be said.

Some of this behaviour has been happening for a very long time.

We’ve seen it, dealt with it and, honestly, we’ve just kept ignoring it. We’ve cleaned up, repaired things and moved on because we didn’t want to make a big issue out of it.

But enough is enough.

We’ve had broken urinals, toilets left in an unacceptable state, people spitting on toilet mirrors, mess left on floors and toilet seats, ripped seat cushions, damaged property and unacceptable behaviour towards our staff.

And every time, it’s our staff who have to deal with it.

It costs money, time, effort and someone’s hard work to clean and repair these things. Then, unfortunately, we sometimes hear complaints about the condition of the toilets or other areas — without people seeing what our staff have had to deal with beforehand.

We want everyone to come in, have a drink, have fun and enjoy themselves. But please know your limits. If you can’t handle your alcohol, please don’t let it become someone else’s problem.

We’ve been understanding for a very long time. That understanding should not be taken for granted.

From now on, if anyone is caught deliberately damaging the pub, deliberately creating unacceptable mess, or behaving disrespectfully towards our staff, you will be asked to leave and permanently banned from the pub.

No arguments. No excuses. Enough is enough.

Please respect the pub.
Please respect our staff.
And please respect the people who have to clean up after you. ❤️
