AMBRIERES-les-VALLEES

Ambrieres-les-Vallees is a small town located in the Mayenne (Pays de la Loire region) 38 km from Laval, the department capital. The town is 225 km southwest of Paris.

Our home overlooks the Varenne river and the village church of Notre Dame.

Ambrieres is situated in a quiet farming area within an easy drive of many medieval towns and villages, the Brittany coast and the famous Normandy beaches. To the south, is the Loire valley with its fabulous chateaux and vineyards.

The town itself is relatively quiet but does have a small supermarket and a few bars and restaurants. The local bread is excellent with a choice of 2 boulangeries (bakeries).

Shopping however is best done in Mayenne 10 mins away at HyperU or Le Clerc (big supermarkets, with everything that you will need).

Less than 2 hours drive from Ambrieres is one of Europes most unforgettable sights: Mont Saint Michel: rising from a small island in Normandy the medieval Benedictine monastery is a not-to-be-missed part of any trip to our region.

A 45 minute drive from Ambrieres is this very beautiful hilltop village: great for walking and plenty to see.
