Four seasons. One concert

Live at Chelsea at the Royal Hospital Chelsea delivery peak British summertime... sunshine one minute and torrential rain the next.

Tony Hadley and Holly Johnson kept us all entertained after I finished stuffing my face with Oysters and hot sauce. Thankfully there was plenty of Ormarine Picpoul de Pinet on hand.

If you have never had Picpoul with oysters, you're missing one of wines great pairings. The bright citrus, crisp acidity and Saline freshness of the wine worked perfectly with every creamy shell. Sidenote... those oysters were huge 🤯.

Rain. Sun. Oysters. Picpoul. Live music.

Honestly, thats a pretty hard combination to beat.

A morning with Champagne Cattier at COYA Mayfair hosted by Alexander Cattier himself.

We tasted through the Premier Cru range, including the Brut, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noir and Rosé before discovering the newly released Millésime 2016.

The Cattier family have been producing Champagne since 1918 and it was fascinating to hear Alexander share the history, philosophy and future of the house.

Paired with COYA's vibrant Peruvian cuisine, it made for a brilliant morning/afternoon of great food and great Champagne.

Which style are you reaching for first: Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noir or Rosé?

You voted this as the red wine you would happily get rid of. Zinfandel 🍷

I get it.

Too many people experience the jammy, sweet, high alcohol versions and decided that the whole grape isn't worth drinking.

But does Zinfandel deserve the hate or are we judging it by its worst examples?
