ومن أعظم ما وفّى به صبره على الذبح إذ قال: {سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ} وفّى بذلك فمكّن أباه من الذبح، وذلك جليُّ في قوله سبحانه عنه وعن أبيه الخليل عليه السّلام: {فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُ لِلْجَبِينِ} (الصافات: 103)
