Guatemala 2020/21 crop is in full swing. These coffees should land in 🇨🇦 in the late Spring. If you're a Canadian Coffee Roaster looking to connect with Small Lot Producers long term we have the project for you.

For decades Small Lot Producers have had little or no access to the specialty coffee buyer.

Help break years of disconnect, offer stability and above average producer direct payments to combat the everyday struggles these families face.

Abel, Reyes, Juan Antonio, Don Osmin, Yolanda have been staples over the last couple years and will ship this year. Byron, Avagail, Jorge, Baudilio, Danilo, Victor and others are looking for roaster menu spots in 2021.

Furthermore, to learn more about the community's resistance to an unwanted foreign operated mine "El Escobal" in their area-check out our friends website under producers or do a search online, it's not hard to find.

Brazil arrival 3/3 Serrado

Serrado is small farm located in Carmo de Minas, in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. This is the families 5th generation in coffee, José Antonio Pereira, his wife Valeria, his son Caio and Felipe all help manage the farm. Coffee is the main but not the only focus of the farm. We love it and every year we try to make higher quality! The altitude of the farm is 1100 to 1200 meters above the sea level. The varietals we grow are Acaiá, Mundo Novo, Yellow Catucaí and Yellow Bourbon. During the harvest the coffee is picked manually to avoid any cherries dropping to the floor. The coffee is collected three times a day and transported to the mill where it can be processed as Natural, Fully Washed, Honey or Pulped Natural. In addition to coffee, seeking sustainability the farm also has Dairy Cattle, which supplies us with most of the fertilizer required by the coffee plantation and has a photovoltaic plant the supplies all the power needed to produce coffee and milk. -

Brazil arrival 2/3 Sítio da Capela

Sítio da Capela is a small farm in Carmo de Minas, Brazil, focused only on producing high quality coffee. The farm is managed by Caio Pereira, his father Jose Antonio and brother Felipe. The farm was originally part of neighbouring Serrado but was later divided off and leased back to the father, sons team. Capela means a small church or just a chapel. This name is given to this land because there is a beautiful chapel built in the center of the area. At Sítio da Capela the variety grown is Red Acaiá between the altitudes of 1130 to 1180 meters above the sea level. Capela can produce Full Natural, Fully Washed, Honey or Pulped Natural coffees depending on demands. Capela uses photovoltaic energy to process all the coffee produced. Photovoltaic solar energy is a clean, renewable source of energy that uses solar radiation to produce electricity. It is based on the so-called photoelectric effect, by which certain materials are able to absorb photons (light particles) and release electrons, generating an electric current. -

1/3 new arrivals from Brazil -Fazenda Santa Helena is located in Carmo de Minas, in the south of Minas Gerais, in the Sierra da Mantiqueira region. It has an altitude of 950 to 1,300 masl and has amazing soil quality and exceptional climate for the production of specialty coffees. Not to mention the farms well kept natural surroundings being totally preserved to deliver breathtaking landscapes pictured above. The family is in the fourth generation of coffee production. Ernane and his sister Eleny manage the Fazenda. The farm is not mechanized, so all crop management is done by hand. This ends up generating a higher cost in production, but shows through in the high quality we produce because of the extra care that has been taken during all stages or production. -

With the arrival in Honduras of Roya's disease in 2012, Isaura Martínez lost more than 60% of her production, adding to this crisis the bad prices offered by intermediaries. In 2014 product of the friendship with the brothers Carrillo Karen and Edgar. The separation of their coffee became based on their quality and work in the improvement of the coffee collection and benefit process.

This paid off in the 2014-2015 harvest, where coffee from Los Olivos, La Florencia and Finca San Jacinto farms improved their attributes in the washing process. Achieving to be bought by 4 buyers from different origins United States and Europe.

For the 2015-2016 harvest, coffee began to work in natural process and honey influenced by the exchange of experience with producers from other countries, this has given very good results, improving the quality of coffee and consistency.

Currently, Isaura Martínez continues to work hard to improve its quality and her coffee is well known and appreciated by buyers all over the world. -
