This page is founded on the notion that surrealism can be weaponized against both capitalism and fascism. So much of social oppression is anchored to aesthetic cues and associations, systems of judgement (some blatant and some unspoken) that govern our behavior and truncate our liberties. Symbols and uniforms denote the values of humans and objects. The ruling class is served by this machination of day-to-day cruelty that renders human life into a commodity on the open market. If we can dissociate or obscure the meanings of cultural signifiers, deconstruct and reassemble them in new forms, we can begin to undue the binds of society and till the soil of the zeitgeist where new culture will grow. Schizophrenic deterritorialization of cultural and artistic signifiers will lead us to new modes of subjectivity and, ultimately, the death of oppressive social hierarchies.
