I sometimes get asked what sparked my passion in card-making, and it can be hard to articulate what I love so much about what I do and where it all started.

Because honestly? There’s a LOT to love about paper-crafting - the supplies, the people, the list goes on 😍

Which is why I decided to jot some of these down the other day. And then thought to myself, you know what Rachel? I have to share these! I want people to know how much I love this.

Scratch that… I NEED you to know it.
➡️ So swipe through to see 3 things that I am absolutely obsessed with that contribute to me starting my paper crafting journey and how they’ve shape Seize the Stamp.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s time to STOP comparing your crafting skills to others.

Because I’m going to let you in on a secret crafty friends.

When you stop comparing, that’s when the magic happens.

Magic like:
✨ You gain confidence in your unique style
✨ Create a supportive community
✨ Have more fun when you create

Easier said than done right?
WRONG.
Yeah, I said it. And here’s a few things you can do to help stop comparing your 'skills' to others:
👉 Take a look back at your work and appreciate how much you've learned & grown in your crafting.
👉 Join a crafting community - participate in groups, support others & share your work for encouragement & feedback.
👉 Don't get hung up on finding your style - experiment with different styles & techniques. Let your creativity lead you, instead of a pressure to always create in a certain way.

And ALWAYS remember you're in this hobby for the love of paper crafting - the rest is just noise!

Want to experience this type of magic first-hand. Book Inspire & Create Workshop Day, happening in Basel, Switzerland on Saturday 28 September. You won't regret it! Book via link in bio.

How about some lovely blooms for mid-week woes?! Loving the detail on this Taylored Expressions Baroque Bouquet stamp 💐 The background ink blending (Distress Oxide Speckled Egg) was a breeze with the masking stencil. All brought to life with OLO markers 🧑‍🎨
