There are some recipes that are not as approachable as others. For me infusing a spirit usually is the “meh not for me”. Simply because what else can the infused spirit be used for or do I have said ingredient for the infusion. This one fell in both categories but I also had a solution as I was reading it. Why not use cedar bitters that I have?!? May not be exactly the same but it should still create a delicious drink. 🥃

This had a lot going on. The obvious is oak and cedar 🪵 both as aroma and on the palate which further teases the cinnamon bark from the Angostura bitters. There is spiced sweet orange 🍊 , honey 🍯, mint, vanilla cream, leather, baked cereal 🥣.

Do enjoy the extra layer cedar brings especially as a slow sipper on a relaxing evening.

Rust and Bone
2 oz (60ml) Cedar Infused Bourbon (OkanaganSpiritsCraftDistillery ) with 4 dashes of cedar bitters (Black Cloud Bitters® )
½ oz (15ml) Amaro Nonino (Amaro Nonino )
¼ oz (7.5ml) Bénédictine (BÉNÉDICTINE Liqueur )
1 dash Angostura Bitters (ANGOSTURA Bitters )

Reposted The Second Shot A Few years back I had made a stir down based on the bees knees cocktail and it had inspired me to do it again, mainly for the photo because I love colours and I wanted to try redoing the garnish. It's basically a Martini with a lemon undertone from the Limoncello. Adding in the sugar garnish that resembles honey completes the original idea of it being inspired by the classic Bees Knees.

~ Knees Bees Martini ~
50ml Revolve Gin
10ml Limoncello
30ml Dry Vermouth

The Orchard Smash
2-4 Strawberries
1.5 oz Okanagan Spirits Barrel Aged Gin
1 oz Okanagan Spirits Cherry Liqueur
Juice of 1 lemon
¼ oz simple syrup
Mrs Betters Bitters or egg white
5 drops Kensington Bitters
Muddle, shake, strain over ice.
Top with cracked black pepper and garnish with a strawberry. 👌
