Smash Comedy Fest

In January, our second annual Smash Comedy Fest raised a ton of money to send underrepresented kids to Improvcamp... but when Camp got cancelled for the year because of COVID, we went looking for another charity that could help kids in need in the meantime.

So: We're really excited to be sharing the love with Backpack Buddies instead.

Backpack Buddies is an super important local organization working to help cover the hunger gap for low-income kids in B.C. Making sure young people have a voice in the arts is important and that was our original goal... but if they can't even get enough to eat, they're not going to get very far.

We just got a call to say that our donation is going to help feed 400 (!) kids. We're honoured we got to help make that happen, but really, that's YOUR money that helped make that happen. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket or a pass (and to the hilarious performers who helped us put on all seven shows!) and helped us do some good in these weird times. You're heroes! We're crying!

Take care of each other out there and we'll hopefully see you for a show and some laughs and some tears together real soon.

AMAZING NEWS, you sweet comedy fans: we raised enough money with this year's Smash Fest to send FOUR cool teens to Improvcamp this year.

Help us find the best and brightest to share this opportunity with! Deadline to apply is April 26. (Can we come too?!?!)

What a weekend! Thank you everyone who came and laughed and supported the shows and our fundraising goals. We’re just tallying up the numbers but it’s safe to say we’ll have some very happy kids accepting
Improv Camp scholarships this year: stay tuned!
