💜 NICU Awareness Month 💜

Charlotte was born at 31 weeks with VACTERL syndrome and entered this world already fighting.

Esophageal atresia/no esophagus. Colonic atresia/no colon. Meningocele/sac of spinal fluid on her head. Irregular kidneys/horseshoe kidneys. All the wires, alarms, tubes, unknown.. she needed a colostomy, a g tube.. so many surgeries and procedures. Infections. Setbacks.

We spent 2.5 months in the NICU, followed by 5 months in the surgery unit at BC Children’s Hospital.

There were days of fear, exhaustion and uncertainty. Days of one step forward and two steps back.

But there were also tiny victories that meant everything ❤️

Charlotte was and still is the strongest little fighter I know 💜

For every NICU baby, every family and every parent spending another night beside their baby, you are not alone 💜

Grape Soaps 🍇
I haven’t made these in a bit!
Of course after I’ve got everything to go I realize I don’t have the right green 😅 anyways, I hope these turn out despite the different colour 😂
