What a way to get out of a sticky situation in the late game! Your opponent rattles their last ball, the 8 ball is close to the upper right corner pocket, and you are left with a blocked corner pocket in the bottom right while the cue ball is in front of the 8 ball. What would you do here?

Hi everyone! Haven't posted in a while because things got busy with my other full time job. I wish I could practice/play more often though.
Anyways, here's a neat little trick shot that can get you out of a sticky situation. I call this the JUMP DRAW SHOT:

Imagine you're playing as stripes in a game of 8-ball and you have this table layout. You can shoot the stripe into the corner pocket but the natural angle of the shot means that the cue ball will collide with the solid ball beside it and you'll be left with a hard shot on the 8-ball next. To make things worse, there's only one available pocket for the 8-ball since the solids are covering the other ones. THIS IS A DO OR DIE SPOT: WHAT DO YOU DO?

Try shooting this shot with back spin and elevate your cue at an angle aim downwards, rather than keeping it parallel to the table. With a good stroke, this should jump the cue ball over the solid ball and the backspin will spin the cue ball into position for an easy shot on the 8-ball!

Trickshot Thursday #1: The 4-in-1

Get all 4 balls in on the same shot; no spin required. If the set up is correct, shooting straight through the cue ball should do the trick (y)

Fun Drill Friday #5:

Place the yellow, green, brown, blue, purple (or pink), and black balls on the designated spots, similar to that on a snooker table. Then try to make the balls in order: yellow, green, brown, blue, purple (or pink), and finally black, the same order on a snooker table again.

This is good for practicing speed control, which is often overlooked and underrated. There are times where you need to hit hard, but there are also times where you can hit the shot softly. Sometimes, shooting too hard or soft can leave you with a hard shot afterwards. Not much spin is needed to make the balls in order.

The first three shots are definitely the hardest, but the drill gets easier as it progresses. This drill requires less balls so it is more convenient to practice with, but do not let that fool you into thinking this is easy. Practice, practice, practice!
