Jake Gardner just proved why Canadian grit and determination are unmatched. The young bull rider from B.C.’s Peace Country has climbed to No. 1 in the world in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) bull riding standings!
Called up as a last-minute backup at the massive RodeoHouston (the biggest rodeo in the world), Jake flew in with barely an hour to spare and delivered an absolute masterclass. Riding the powerful bull “Milkshake,” he went the full eight seconds as the Houston crowd lost their minds — securing the championship and rocketing him straight to the top of the global rankings.
From the rodeo rings of British Columbia to competing across North America and beyond, Jake represents everything we love about Canadian athletes: heart, hustle, courage, and never backing down.
This is more than just a win for one rider — it’s a proud moment for every Canadian who cheers for our athletes flying the Maple Leaf on the world stage.
