I've recently spoken to a few people confused about liquor licensing.

For private weddings and events at your home, you can only get a license for an open bar.

For private weddings and events at a venue you can get a license for an open bar or a cash bar! (If the venue already holds a permanent license they may have to suspend it for the day of your event, so your liquor license can be valid)

As long as your event is private ie you are not charging to get in, and it isn't advertised publicly.

The liquor licensing isn't all that complicated!
