🧠 TRIVIA RETURNS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24! 🧠

Season 10 is here, and the Brainiacs are back to defend their title. Six championships. At this point, we’re considering charging them rent for the top spot. The rest of you have had all summer to study, so we expect at least one team to give them a scare.

We’re also putting a handicap proposal to a league vote. Some returning teams suggested giving the previous week’s winner a point deduction equal to their winning margin, capped at four points for their next game. Win by two? Start next week at −2. Win by ten? Start at −4.

We’ll post a poll for teams planning to return this season. The proposal will pass only if 60% vote in favour. New teams won’t vote on this one.

And yes, the final-round scoring is changing again this year. I made last year’s system, and even I couldn’t explain it. This season, the most you can gain or lose on the final question will be five points.

Returning teams, please vote in the poll. Brainiacs, you’re welcome to vote too—we assume you’ve already worked out the odds. 🍻

🍔 THE EASTERN SHORE BURGER HUNT ROLLS ON! 🍔

What an incredible opening weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out, tried the burgers and helped support our local food banks. But don’t hang up those hunting shoes yet—we’re going strong until Saturday!

Before heading out, please check each location’s hours. Some places will be closed on certain days—apparently, restaurant owners occasionally need sleep.

🚨 BURGER HUNT UPDATES 🚨

🍔 Old No.7 is closed today, giving everyone else a chance to catch up. You’re welcome.

🍔 Tide & Table plans to open Wednesday evening for a special Burger Hunt appearance! They’re confident they’ll be there—as long as the hood doesn’t break, it doesn’t rain, it isn’t 200 degrees from another heat wave, and they aren’t off at the Seaside Festival or catering the MLA’s wedding. Other than that, we’re pretty confident they’ll rock it!

🍔 Rose & Rooster has joined as a late entry with the Bourbon Peach Smashie. They may be late to the party, but showing up with bourbon and peaches is one way to make sure nobody complains!

🍔 Panda Pizza kept its entry close to its chest and is finally revealing the Fried Pickle Burger! It features a 6-ounce beef patty, bacon, Gouda, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and a new limited-time secret signature sauce. For a pizza joint entering a Burger Hunt, they’re looking suspiciously comfortable.

🍔 Bentley’s opened at 3:00 this past weekend and sold 21 ODINATORS! With $3 from every burger donated to the Marine Communities Food Bank, they’ve already raised $138. Apparently, keeping the marriage alive also keeps the burger sales rolling!

🍔 Porters Lake Pub is still in the hunt and keeping the competition sizzling. PLP has been pretty confident—but don’t worry, we saved them a seat at the table. It’s right behind Old No.7.

🍔 Martinique Desserterie is serving its Breakfast Burger: a 3-ounce beef patty, smashed avocado, bacon, fresh tomato and a runny fried egg on a crispy croissant. Their photo was missing a bite, covered in a delicious mess and completely unedited. At least we know the burger survived longer than their promotional video!
