When we started this fundraiser a few hours ago, we hoped we could raise a little money to help Ola and Martinique Desserterie through a difficult time.

Instead, this incredible community stepped up and sold all 50 numbers in record time.

Because of your generosity, we've raised $1,000+ to help Ola focus on her health and recovery without having to worry quite as much about the day-to-day pressures of running a small business.

To everyone who purchased a number, shared the post, sent kind words, offered support, or simply took a moment to care — thank you.

A special thank you to Splurge Cheesecakes & Snack Bar for donating the cheesecake and helping make this fundraiser even more special.

There were a few duplicate numbers requested and a few late entries after we sold out. We will be reaching out to anyone affected and making sure everything is sorted fairly.

❤️ A Community Helping One of Its Own ❤️ SOLD OUT, This community rocks

Running a small business is never easy. One broken freezer, one unexpected repair, one slow week, or one medical emergency can be the difference between getting ahead and falling behind.

A few weeks ago at Old No. 7, our specialty freezer failed overnight. To some, it may seem like just an appliance. To a small business owner, it can mean lost product, lost revenue, and another bill when rent, payroll, power, suppliers, and everything else are already waiting to be paid.

Today, our friend Ola from Martinique Desserterie was taken to the hospital due to high blood pressure. The stress of owning and operating a small business is real. Earlier this year, she suffered a stroke, fought her way back, and returned to work because that's what small business owners do—we show up, even when it's hard.

Now it's our turn to show up for her.

To the individual who, for the second time in as many months, threw food at one of our employees:

Your behavior is completely unacceptable.

The first time this occurred, I personally told you that you were no longer welcome at Old No. 7. Despite that, you returned today and repeated the same conduct.

Our employees deserve to come to work without being subjected to intimidation, abuse, or having objects thrown at them. We have a responsibility to provide a safe workplace, and we take incidents like this very seriously.

After reviewing the security footage, we will be forwarding the matter to the RCMP for their review.

Effective immediately, you are permanently banned from Old No. 7 and are not permitted on the premises.

If you would like to discuss this matter, you may provide your contact information and we can arrange a meeting at an appropriate time and place.

To our staff: thank you for your professionalism and patience. No one should have to tolerate this type of behavior while doing their job.
